Thanks for the reply! I just bought my lens from dde today. Not too sure if I've got a good copy can you guys help see if I got a lemon? All pictures SOOC

Just a bit front focus. Same as mine, it think its the best you can get with 3rd party.

I've noticed that this lens works well with 60D out of the box, other body may require calibration

Nope. I'm using 60D. And my first lens wasnt on spot. SO i went back n changed for a better one. Still not 100% correct AF. Just slightly, say 5% miss? So acceptable. And 1 really good advice i found over the net is that its because of the f1.4, on normal shottings lots of time you will notice "missed" focus. But its actually how the bokeh effects. Means the bokeh is so good that even a bit of missed focus you will notice your target object is not focus. SO careful with the lens, dont say its AF problem, its actually the bokeh, well if you get a good / calibrated copy lar.

I've been shooting with it but realize sometimes the pictures are soft, especially when the subject is quite near to me. Anyone using this lens realize it? I've been trying to compare with my nikon 35 1.8. I'll post up pictures to compare once I'm more free.

I sometimes get soft results, but usually it's on long range subjects - which I don't really care about when using this kind of portrait lens hehhehe.

Anyway please post some pic so we can have a look. Don't forget the 100% crop if possible =)

Watch the min. Focus distant...

Thanks for your advice. I've been calibrating my lens and voila. I've dialed -3 and exposure -0.7 and I'm getting some really sharp results. Going out to shoot some stuff with my newfound calibration and i'll post some pictures for you guys to take a look. Thanks for all the help so far!

Totally agree, must be very steady while shooting at f1.4 or else it will turnout OFF.

That's why have to make sure you set a proper shutter speed as well whenever possible.

I mean, manage the expectations, don't expect 100% sharp pics on f1.4 and 1/15 or 1/10s, hand held. Unless you have Popeye's arm :p
