How is this lens compared to the nikon 35mm 1.8?

Is this lens compatible with D7000?

try watching the digitalrev episode where they compare these two. apparently the sigma has better bokeh, but nikon doesn't fall far from it in terms of sharpness and response. yeah they are compatible.

Really wish to own this lens, but the cs since to give problem when sending lens for calibration.

Was thinking of getting a 2nd set but most of them are selling at 600 & I need to top up another 150 for calibration which make the lens asking price to be around 750.

Can I check what is the lower price I can get for a new set with local warranty ?

Hi! Sigma 30mm users!

I dropped my camera with the 30mm lens on. My heart also dropped when that happened. The filter cracked, but no other visible damage is seen. Lens seem to be working fine in AF mode. When I put it to manual mode, the lens seem to be unable to match the view-finder view to actual photo taken. View-finder view looked sharp but the actual photo is blur.

Do you think there is something wrong with the motor? anyone has any issue with such problem before? how much do you think it will cost if i send it for repairs at Sigma HQ?

I bought mine for about $730.

BTW, if you're buying a used lens (with local warranty, not grey - and still covered by the warranty), you may still be able to get it calibrated free.... provided the first owner didn't have it calibrated more than once.

Sounds like a problem with your camera diopter settings. Maybe you should check your camera's viewfinder diopter instead.
