I called them and they affirmed they have one last canon mount copy..so I get them to reserve through phone and I came down to collect..not too sure whether they do still have any more canon copies..

Their website does not have canon mount version. Only the nikon mount. How did you order?

Got this nice lens from Japan through a friend, special price as Japan was having their sale and it was sub-$500. Brought this along my Langkawi trip and I love it.

nice photos from the lens.... if its not for cropped bodies only, i would have gotten it long ago

Yes, It was so much front focus that it was even out of my test range when I did the focusing test. Nothing else was wrong with the lens. I did some test shot last night and it looks good. I especially like the Bokeh when shooting wide open at F/1.4. I have a trip coming up and intend to bring the Sigma along. I will try to post some pictures soon...;)

oh I've got the same problem, the flower in front, and not the focal flower, is in focus! lol
service centre is ADPS right?

wah the ah ma at APDS quite rude.

whats ADPS? o.o ive had no problems with sigma service so far. i appreciated the fact they went the extra mile for me too

Anyone experienced sending the lens to Sigma for calibration but ended up not being fixed? Sent mine yesterday but when i tested again today using the focus chart, seems the front focus issue is still there.. Calibration time only took 1 hour.

You should test it at e shop then feedback if still have issues

The Sigma technician showed me the before and after calibration results on the spot. The actual calibration took less than 15 mins for mine, excluding queuing time. Bring it back again lor.

some photos taken using this gem of a lens. some advice is to take this lens, no matter how much u buy, or how sharp it is, for a calibration at sigma's service centre. (:

Agree that the pics do look a bit soft.

rmb to call and book an appointment! they do not take walk-ins.

am a newbie here and very interested in getting this lens
after reading this thread, was disappointed about focusing issues
question is ... apart from testing this lens, what must I do before buying one
and how do I know that it doesn't have any focusing issues ... ?
currently using D80 ... :embrass:

difference is huge if you can tell. this lens is a keeper if you get it nicely done.

go to the shop, request for a few copies of the lens to test it out. take a couple of shots at is minimum focusing distance. like my first shot. test out a different f-stops. 1.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.8 and 3.5. these are the 4 i normally test.

after which you should test the lens at 3metres and beyond. i had problems with the back focusing, so images 3m and beyond was not focused properly. also, test with all 4 f-stops.

sometimes, even tho you test, it will still have minor problems which the sigma svc centre can fix for u. i got it fixed just ytd. (:

Hi Bro,

U can refer to the below link on the focus testing and print out the focusing chart to test the lens. When u get a good copy with spot on focus, this lens is sharp even at f1.4:thumbsup:
