Dear snappers...
I came across a 2nd hand Sigma Lens 30mm f1.4 at $500.
Is it a good price to get?...
Checked with Camera Workshop but no stock except one with pentax Mount.
I m looking for Nikon Mount though.
Anyone care to update what is the latest price for this lens?...
Has it dropped to below $700?
Thanks

i mostly shoot my kid without flash. After much read around, decide to go for this.
Any protential problem if this is going to be my first prime len ?
In case there is focusing issue, where can i go ?

Limited Budget, so i plan to pair this with the 18-250 to complete my "set":sweatsm:

Sigma 30mm is a good lens for kids and babies.
If there is focusing problem, you may want to bring the lens to the Sigma service centre. It is located in E-centre (Level 7) along Bt Merah road.

just join the 30mm f/1.4 club!
so far, quite happy with it especially the compact size & f/1.4!:D

the hsm is as fast as the canon !
really value for $.

I find that this lens focus much more accurate at AF-C mode...:) ANyone have the same experience?

It works the same for me, be it in AF-S or AF-C.

absolutely love this lens. Took the risk and bought it from TIn Cheong, ... it was back focused, send it to sigma for calibration that costs me $80, now its sharp as ever. One thing to note, the lady on the counter told me that if its bought from an unauthorised dealer, they will still honour the warranty but you have to bare the labour costs.

Some pictures.

Last time their calibration was FOC even if the lens is not under warranty.
Maybe too many people sent in their lens for calibration.
So now it is chargeable. But a bit expensive...

I agree that it is abit expensive, JEL (tamron) charges $40 for calibration ... huge difference ....

now the charging... inconsistence... i think calibration is done cos the goods bought does not fit the cam well, if really warranty, it should be free.

Lovely lens ;)
Highly recomended

Yup taken wide open at f1.4. I was lucky to get a sharp copy.
Only complain is the terrible pealing on the lens

anyone has their calibration done for more than 2 hrs? I sent it in at 9.30 this morning and have not receive any calls from them. it's about 12 noon already

Have you made appointment with them before sent in the lens? If not they will take longer. If yes, sometimes there are more units to be done so alos take longer.

Please do share how much they charge you after you got your unit. Is your unit local warranty?
