:bsmilie: I'd luv to do that if those guys do allow it. $150 saved sure can get me a good filter.

If you're talking about artworkfoto. They only allow you to test up to 3 copies, enquired this just before the new year.

I bought an used 30mm F/1.4 last year. Got it calibrated for my Nikon D90 and simply love the sharpness and bokeh of the lens. But now there's a problem, I've got a D40 (for my kid) and the lens front-focus badly.

Has anyone managed to get a lens calibrated to focus correctly for 2 different camera models? Won't want to pay to re-calibrate each time I change a camera body.

The calibration cost is S$130 at Sigma SC btw.

I asked this same question from the Sigma calibration engineer when I had mine calibrated. His answer is to use the in-camera focusing mechanism for the second body. In other words, there is no way to calibrate the lens optics for two different bodies. It is one or the other.

I forgot to mention that none of my camera has the AF fune-tuning, unfortunately. Guess I have to use the 35mm F/1.8DX instead for both bodies.

If only they incorporate the AF fune-tuning in the lens itself! Everyone will be happy.

I thought all along I read on this thread, that the calibration cost is $80 bucks, correct me if I'm wrong.

It was 80 bucks till late last year. ;(

Somehow it's more worthwhile to get a local warranty copy nowadays.

Hi Guys I am very new to this forum but stumbled upon this thread, I am currently using this lens as my walkabout lens...incredible effects with f/1.4 totally loving it..

If someone bought a 2nd hand but local agent set and it's still under warranty; does the 2nd owner gets free calibration too?

Yes, heard from the Sigma service centre lady when I called to arrange an appointment for calibration. As long as you can produce the local warranty slip, calibration is FOC.
