Hi guys,

I also hope to have some kind folks here to provide some photos (portraits/indoor low light) taken with Sigma 20 or 24/f1.8 DG Macro.

I am having the 30mmf1.4 but still find it not wide enough to take family photos and had a hard time trying to take pictures of my son and wife on board the plane recently and I could not really stand further back or else would be sitting on someone else laps....(dun mind some pretty ladies' lap though)

Anyway, I am trying to see if it's justify enough to change from my 30f1.4 to either 20 or 24f1.8, esp the sharpness at f1.8 and bokeh.

As my copy of 30f1.4 is already sharp at f1.4....just that it's not wide enough for some tight situations....

I have seen some people selling off the older version of 28f1.8 (non-EX) ones, although I prefer the non-EX exterior but not sure of the IQ of that lens as cannot quite find them available on the net already...

Hi, I'm interested to get this too for my D700. Wondering if I get it in HK, would the warranty be valid in Singapore ?

Yes... my set was from Hong Kong. But you must buy a local HK set and not a HK grey set. You must have your warranty + receipt when you go to the Sigma service center.

thank u. Alternatively, I presume my D700 can recognise a non-Nikon AF lens and remember the fine-tune settings on the sigma.

Yes they can :D I am using a D300 and it can recognize the lens.

How is the focusing of this lens in terms of speed and accuracy ? I tried it on the IT show, the focusing speed :dunno:

anyone shoot events with this lens b4 ?

I just shot an event yesterday... and brought only 2 prime lenses... the Sigma 24 f/1.8 and Nikon 85 f/1.4. You can have a look at the shots...

I find the focusing speed acceptable... and if you are using a Nikon body, the focusing speed would depend on the body that you use as well.

Oh i see... if still HK$2550... that will be abt S$500 now. Still cheap.
