If u read the reviews, it should the best amongst third party lenses. Moreover at around $530 only, it shall be a value for money fast lens with os.
I think if u use teleconverter it will become f4 instead of f2.8
No. It is among the best, but not the best third party lenses... there are no the best. Sigma 17-50mm os is no doubt a very good lens but to say that it is the best... it is simply not true.
To give you a better example,

Conclusion (sharpness):
Both lenses have good sharpness and contrast when you stop them down to F4.0, and perform excellently at F5.6+. This is true for all focal lengths. Barring focus issues or camera shake you can be confident that your image will be decently sharp from corner to corner if you stick to these apertures – dramatically so at F5.6.
But how do these two perform at their maximum aperture? After all, you don’t buy an f/2.8 lens only to use it at f/5.6+ do you? 1. Here the Tamron performs well at the wide end (17mm), but things get a bit fuzzy at the the telephoto end (50mm) of the zoom range.2. The Sigma showed almost exactly the opposite performance as the Tamron. 3. At the wide end (17mm) the Sigma’s focussing was intermittently unreliable (more about this later), and even when AF worked correctly the result it was softer than the Tamron. 4.At 50mm f/2.8 the Sigma came into its own and delivered better sharpness and contrast.
So as you can see, the Tamron 17-50mm VC
1. Perform better at 17mm
2. had better AF accuracy and reliability as compared to Sigma at 17mm
The Sigma, however performed better at 50mm.
Just from that review, I can say that Sigma is not the best...
A look at the bokeh by both lens also showed that the bokeh produced by Tamron lens was cleaner and in my opinion better looking than the one by Sigma which had strange swirling pattern in it.
Although the author picked Sigma over Tamron in the end, but if I am to choose and from the result achieved, I would have go for the Tamron.
Newbie here.. pls help..
Is this lens good for photoshoots?
Does this lens work with sigma's 1.4 teleconverter ?
For outdoor photoshoots, are reflectors enough for lighting?
This lens is good for photoshoots.
This lens should be able to work with Sigma's 1.4 (not too sure though)although do take note that there will be a bit of degrade to the IQ with the TC (assuming it can be used.)
For outdoor photoshoots, it depend on the condition and what you are shooting, where you are and so call and so for. I would not say that reflector is enough, you might need flash too.
