but the advantage to the sigma... i can use it on a film camera :) 12mm without the fisheye effect is no joke
just to confirm, sigma 12-24mm is the only lens that can be used on both digital and film, right?

It's quite mind blowing when you use it on the F4. :)

Is the Tokina better than the Sigma 10-20mm and Tamron 11-18mm lens also?? :dunno:

Hi All Nikoneans

Just a quick question to those who have used these 2 lens
I have a someone here in HK selling $580 for the Sigma 12-24mm (warranty over)
or a second hand Tokina 12-24mm $625 with warranty for 3yrs
New Tokina cost abt $680 whilst a new Sigma cost $895
Which is a better len for the Nikon D70s
Only problem is Sigma cannot take filter whilst the Tokina can
Dont forsee myself using filter for wide angle
Your opinions count cause i need to let the buyer knows by 2 morrow
Cheers to all in Singapore:) :) :) :)

Go for Sigma. Nikon brownish cast. Add Sigma blue and red bias. U have email? Can mail u right now

Sigma 18 - 50. My kit lens is 18 - 70. Everything sharp sharp but no depth at all.

I know. I was thinking of getting that lens initially but no stock. My events usually require me to shoot wide. My friends theory to me is this. My D70s image always brown cast. If add cyan, my colour is corrected. I tested the theory. Shot High ceiling shots with yellow lighting. I add blue to the photo in JPEG, it came out neutral and slight reddish. Sigma is blue and red bias. Look at the Sigma lens directly and u will see blue colour. Dun trust me. Test out yourself. Check whether I am right. Kit lens no colour on the lens

One more thing. Nikon everything sharp sharp. Gives a very digital feeling. Sigma is slightly soft. Neutralised the digital feeling slightly

Wahaha... and he says he doesn't need the basics.
