Sony SG website already updated that price NEX 7 body only S$1799.

the body only option should be available next wed (15 Feb) in Singapore, not much longer... waiting for updates on availability and price of the E18-55 kit.

I Read your post, is very cool i love it (although i may not have experience on photo taking).

the price MYR4499 is Sony Centre, every one know Sony Centre do charge a little bit higher than other. Anyhow i'll see what to do... =/ $2k for de body + lens i suppose.. its expensive lolx

Can the bros here provide more details on the availability?
The shop i frequent told me they will only get 2 sets and the boss hinted that discount will be minimal given the lack of supply and super high demand. Even the kit version that will arrive later will be limited in stocks.

I think if you are willing to pay full retail, best to go to the Sony Centers. Normal shops will probably get very limited sets.

By controlling the price, Sony would be able to maximize revenue due to the limited supply. Folks waiting for good discounts might have to wait a while.

I think this is your inner voice telling you not to get the NEX-7, which is good as that will mean one more available set for others to buy. cheers :cheergal:

even though Pentax is coming out with the K-01, Olympus with the OM-D, Fuji with the X-PRO but there will always be something nudging you. "Will the 24MP sensor be better than my 16MP?"

I think that is why a lot of pple still go for the Nex-7.

honestly i find the yellow/black combination of the K-01 quite horrible. the black's still ok but.. it just looks like some disposable cardboard camera
