$1600+ is a very good price. No point searching around. Shops are all selling at RRP.

Everyone will ask you which shop quoted yiu that price. Before or after GST?

It doesn't have a normal hotshoe. It has a Sony hotshoe. You have to buy an adapter to convert it into a normal hotshoe.

I tink by normal hotshoe he meant Sony a mount hotshoe? Cos other NEX camera can only use de e mount flash via de smart terminal.

I meant using a normal flash, instead of the puny ones previous nex models can use. one of the main reason why I got the nex 7, and the quick bounce is nice to use.

The 43am does looks fitting with the Nex7.

The hotshoe on the Nex7 allows for strobist works as well, finally, on the NEX series.

Are you asking about the Nex7 or the 43am flash ?

NEX 7 is available, but you may need to leave your name for availability and restocks at Sony style . You can try the usual stores ( MS Color, SLR Revo, Cathay Photos, etc) recommended for availability as well

Based on the brief hands-on that I have done, I can conclude that the metering system on A77 and Nex7 is different from Nex3/5 and A33. The center-weighted metering mode is much more sensitive. its like the area that its sampling is smaller, more like spot metering. A slight re-composing can cause a rather huge change, especially in indoor areas with strong lighting such as in restaurant with spotlights.

I will try to provide a bit more user experience comes this weekend as I still have tons of work to clear and the deadlines are looming:cry:.

The lens looks like SAM 35mm1.8.
Alpha lenses has no stablisation, hence you need to apply shooting basics more consciously .

I was thinking to get A lens 16-50mm f2.8 or zeiss 16-80 with the adapter. I just wonder if the OSS really make any different. Not much article on internet mention about this though.
