These slippers are made for worshipping, usually not for walking... ouch...

The only one shot that made my wife cringe a little...

The weather was so warm that they had attempted to pour water on the tarmac for the believers to walk on.

The kid watches in disbelief... and needed some consolation from dad.

Wow! It's close to 75/1.8 sharpness..... How much is the lens again?
S**t
I must resist the GAS!

Can't help it, my love sharing moment from the night, only time I can have time to shoot thaipusam, it was great time to shoot with 35-100mm F2.8! Brought 3 lenses samyang 7.5 FE, Panasonic 25/1.4 and 35-100, 2 bodies (EPL5+EPL1). Mostly was shot with FE & 35-100, way 25mm lesser.

E-PL5+Panasonic 35-100, iso5000, F2.8 @ 93mm. 1/250s

E-PL5+Panasonic 35-100, iso8000!!! F2.8 @ 42mm, 1/50s. Amazing details with this combi of latest sony sensor+beautiful lens.

E-PL5+Panasonic 25/1.4, iso3200. F1.4, 1/125s.

E-PL1+Samyang Fisheye 7.5mm, ISO1250, 1/20s. The fisheye is great for closeup, I'm almost half arms length from the devotee.

Another fisheye shot, which was stuck on the EPL1 whole night. 1/50, ISO2500. A shot that shows lotsa actions, from rituals to one of the devotee in trance/spiritual mode. Even the 7-14 doesn't get this wide. The distortion just adds a different dimension, imo.

It was touching to see the husband's arm around his wife as they embark on their walk of faith.

shots2013_01_087_Thaipusam.jpg

The wife urging the husband under the really warm weather, and was seen massaging his hand a couple of times as the family walked together as a unit.

Another beautiful couple in their walk of faith.

Couldn't remember if it was sister/mother/girlfriend/wife. But she kept wiping off the sweat as he walked. So sweet.

And the iPhone shooter in the cab.

Hope you guys enjoy the series. Have a good week everyone!

Went with 2 of my friends to KL to shoot Thaipusam at Batu Caves
Only had my OMD and 45mm and 12mm
The lightings were crazy and most shots were done at ISO 3200 wide open
Managed to get some good one. Environment and intensity were different from Singapore
Share one picture here of the amount of devotees.
We shot from 930pm till 530am with the devotees streaming in and out non stop. Estimated crowd was 1.5 millions over the 3 days event
