yes, i used touch focus at first, but found it hard getting the metering right eg. JLo on one side of the frame under a spotlight but the center frame is dark and the shot ends up overexposed. it was tough to guess EV compensation when using ESP metering since the light levels kept changing, and spot metering was frequently thrown off because every now and then a dark hand was waving across the center frame. center-weighted metering seemed the most predictable because it wasn't distracted by the waving arms and not as easily thrown off as ESP when the background suddenly goes dark.

so i went back to using the shutter button. half-press to gauge if i needed to adjust EV, then full press if the metering is acceptable. couldn't do that with touch focus. (well, i could, if i assigned exposure lock to a button, but more buttons to push is not exactly an easier solution when holding the camera above and hoping it doesn't drop on my head.)

i also ended up just keeping the focus point in the center and shooting JLo always in the center, because i was thinking that i was far enough away that i would need to crop the photos anyway, so i would just re-frame/recompose the shot during the cropping. i've gotten to know the 75/1.8 quite a bit and have full confidence that it'll deliver detailed resolution that stands up to a lot of cropping. amazing lens indeed. the photos i posted are about 50-70% of the original frame.

really like this. how do you get such inky blacks?
i'm new to BW conversions and the ones i've tried to convert tend to have a slight color tint, like it was halfway between true BW and sepia. i'd like to get stronger blacks and un-tinted greys, but have not been successful so far using Olympus Viewer.

For my processing i mixed around with SilverEfex Pro and some preset that i have on Lightroom
Mostly my pictures are more under exposed and dark. Some ppl like it some don't but it doesn't matter as long as i like it
