Hi,
I brought my new EM-5 out yesterday for a test shoot at Jurong Bird Park, with Pansonic 100-300mm.
All were taken handheld and wide open.
I must say, the EM-5 was a breeze to carry and shoot with Panasonic 100-300mm without carrying "snail-style" bag. The overall performance of the camera and lens were superb GOOOD-00247.jpg

Hi did u shoot using auto focus or in manual focus with magnification help? I hv the exact same lens.

All taken by auto focus. I did not use manual focus yet.

hi silencer13,
You trip photos are outstanding, best in this thread too. Did your silver omd em5 attract any attentions from people in Japan?

Thanks! But really, I'm still learning. Would appreciate any critique or suggestions to do better, especially when it comes to setting aperture.
I'm still not sure what apertures to set for different situations. I'm totally clueless. So in the end I just shot at a few different apertures where possible.

And yes, I had many stares from camera buffs. Even the staff at Yodobashi were kind of surprised. Even in Japan, not many people own an OM-D, let alone a silver one.
In fact throughout my 18 days, I only saw 1 fellow OM-D user (black). Most people here use Canon EOS, followed very closely by PEN and NEX. But I think Canon EOS users are more than all the others combined.

Some of mine to share, and experiences.

Cat shot with 45/1.8 wide open. Love this sharp lens and tilt screen really useful for low angle shots, people were staring at me when I was taking the cat kneeling on the floor...

MBS with lens flare, taken with 20/1.7 @ F2.5, 1/6sec, handheld, amazed with the IBIS...I normally can do this slow speed only with 9-18mm lens. So very surprised this can be done with 20mm lens.

Love your pussy pic. So nice!
Got to get myself a 45/1.8, looks like a very nice lens.

I'm fascinated by this Dramatic Tone Filter.
PL 14-150mm. Works well with this camera.

Shooting thru the fence and didn't expect to get this.

I must say the camera built-in stabiliser is really good. No tripod used.

The E-M5 is a fine camera...v impressed by its performance/size ratio thus far. Shots are PP-ed especially those of the snow scenes as they were shot through a window and rainy weather.

Taken with M.Zuiko 12mm.

Ropeway at Daikanbo station. Taken with M.Zuiko 12mm.

Ueno Park. Taken with Panny Leica 25mm.

YOU! YOU! YOU!!!!! WHY MUST YOU DO THIS?!?!?!

Why must you post such wonderful pictures of Japan where I will be going to in August?!?!?!

Why must you purposely state that these are taken with 25mm f1.4 when I'm in 2 minds whether to buy it and I already have 20mm f1.8?!?!?!

Why did you take such kick-ass photos!?!?
