The eagle owl is the largest owl species in the world, and has a six foot wingspan. When photographed on its own, the large size cannot be accurately gauged. The female eagle owl can weigh up to nine pounds (4 kilos). In the wild, they can live for up to 40 years; longer in captivity.

Not an easy shot, right? Butterfly always flying around and quite unpredictable.
