wanted to try the ep-2 with 2 flash combo to see if its possible as a substitute for studio photography
1 YN460 manual flash on board
1 SB800 on optical slave

This 'Pied Fantail" was taken with the combination of 70-300mm & EC14 = 432mm and handheld
The focusing speed was fast and spot on
These damselflies were taken from Jurong lakeside with the combination of 50-200mm lens and 25mm extension tube
AF speed was fast and spot on

Is this file corrupted or something? I see the 2 damselflys chopped up into halves. :think:

Could have been a corrupted file upload earlier and thus when I first saw it, my browser cached the incomplete file. Now the image appears fine. :think:

The power of E-P2 In-Built IS for manual focus lenses ... these are with my biggest manual lens, a Leitz 90mm Summicron-M f/2 APO (a bit smaller than 4/3 Olympus 12-60).
I tried it with a Leica M8.2 camera, no can do at low light, sure blur in my hands.
Night shoot, all ISO 400, No tripod, wall, or bottom support. All shot at f/2.

DP2 is sharper of course.
These 2 have been compared somewhere, I think. DP2 is good at some things, but also has other limitations.
I actually thought of buying another cheap E-P2 one day to experiment and getting the anti-alias filter removed, by these guys -> http://www.maxmax.com/nikon_d200hr.htm. Then it will be like a Leica M8.2, M9 (or DP2), no anti-alias filter.
However, it doesn't make sense at will as it will cost around USD 400++, and I'd rather have it designed from the ground up by the manufacturer. I'm fine with the sharpness of the E-P2 with its already weaker anti-alias, and where an investment in higher-quality lenses will pay off, less sensor-limited (read that somewhere

Yup. I know them. I have both 3 IR-modified cameras from them in the past. It is quite expensive to get them to modify your own camera.Tomcat,

It is not just the sharpness which could be also due to the lens used. The DP2's lens is really good... sharp from centre to edge with minimal chromatic aberrations. The Lumix 20mm is sharp at the centre but not as good at the edge and also suffers from more chromatic aberrations than the Sigma's lens.
The other quality is more related to the sensor used. The Foveon sensor of the DP2 gives better dynamic range.. a lot better... more details in the shadows and highlights.

There is no doubt on the quality of its IQ. It is a niche product, though. But I really won't have fun with it; otherwise, bought already.
I remember now where I saw the comparison between DP2 and EP1, in the DP2 review by dpreview. Many samples over there.
But you should transfer this into its own thread, IMHO, for more feedback, since the thread is for E-P2 pics.
