Hi guys, I am a newbie in taking photo, try to play around with me new EPL1 and took the following photos. Can give me some advise on how to improve the composure and exposure and things like tt?

Taken with ZD 14-42mm lens, currently just bought the VF2 should be some improvement

And also maybe comment whether the photo taken is CMI, average, not bad, nice (unlikely lol)

Went out with some friends, tried out one's Samyang 8mm Fisheye lens, Canon mount with adapter for m4/3. Not as strong fisheye effect as on an A-PSC camera, bur still there ... and could also look like just a normal UWA ...

Some snapshots below, all on E-PL1 ... and being able to use the EVF VF-2 like a waist level finder was helpful

Nice shots Joe, would like to know your views on how it handles and IQ when compare to the panny 7-14.

Thanks, 7-14mm has better handling, and sharpness overall if I remember, as it was already sharp even on the less sharp E-P1/E-P2. I like the contrast on the Samyang, though, and the projection (see Projection section here -> http://kenrockwell.com/tech/8mm-f35.htm).

Samyang is also about 1/3 the price, but I think a better comparison is against the Olympus 4/3 8mm Fisheye, or the upcoming Panasonic m4/3 fisheye, but those 2 should be a lot more expensive. So that leaves the Peleng fisheye which is closer in price.

However, Samyang is more like a semi-fisheye, so it is easier to use it like a regular UWA with some care in composing.

Even wide open, dof is still so big on the Samyang. Except for the church in the pics below, I didn't bother to focus on the rest of the pictures, although I had to be careful with the dof scale which was wrong (always the case from the factory it seems, need to adjust).
In this scenario, the Samyang is easier to use. Sharpness from f/5.6 is good, supposed to be best at f/11 to f/16, best done in pp.

Thanks for the quick comparison, like the semi-fisheye look. More pics pls

I like it too, and the performance at both center and sides is good, as Ken Rockwell pointed out in the Projection section of his review.

Sure, will do, in the meantime, check out what one can do with it, looks like fun to think of ways to compose with it :
