Flash: FL-50R (TTL) on camera (with a cheapo paper bounce card)
Shot setup: Handheld and manual focus (move forwards/backwards to focus)
Post-processing: Sharpening, saturation, contrast, crop to 16:9 format, resize, etc...

This is a very nice macro shot, you have an artistic composition. May I know how far is the end of the lens to the subject? I know the EX-25 helped to get closer to the subject but with 50mm prime in E-3, this is like very close to the subject..

Thanks Khian. My rough guess of the end of the lens to the subject is somewhere between 15cm and 25cm. :think:

reason I asked as I am planning to buy ex-25 to pair it with my 50mm/f2. is it something like that improves the magnification like the tele-converter? or is it just to help move closer to the subject and increase the min. focus distance?

An extension tube like the EX25 will only allow you to focus closer to the subject to increase magnification whereas the teleconverter will increase the effective focal length as well as magnification. Either one will have loss of light. In addition, a teleconverter will also result in loss of image quality.

Here is my first attempt with the Zuiko 50mm F2.0 + EC14 + EX25 combo (no cropping):

Aperture: Somewhere between F11 - F16 (can't remember as it's not recorded in EXIF)
Shutter speed: 1/100s
ISO: 800
Flash: Built-in flash with DIY diffuser
Shot setup: Handheld and manual focus by luck through a dark tunnel
Post-processing: Sharpening, saturation, contrast, resize, NR, etc...
