hi Dovevadar,

is by any chance the 35 lux smaller than the 35 cron? it did appear to when looking at them in pictures but i haven't really had the chance to compare.

cheers

Only the 35Lux type 1 is smaller than the 35crom asph and is a very soft lens. The 35 lux asph is alot bigger than the cron asph.

A post-war old Summitar. With alot of bubbles ;)

We all know that the "perfect 50" in the world - Summilux 50mm ASPH we all love to shoot wide open was actually derived from its version 1 which shares the same 7 elements in 5 groups with 2 air space in between 2nd and 3rd glass like the lens in the picture. Of course not before giving birth to the "the father of street photography" - Summicron 50mm (that Henri Cartier Besson love so much)

Perhaps only the Great Grand Daddy of the Double Gauss principle will know whats going on - Sumar 5cm f2 (which is resting in the dry box for old age)

Heard that lens with bubbles are better than those without. Is it true?

Check out the current issue of LFI...

Are you not using a SNHOO and the hood? No bubbles here. Later version with hexanon aperture blades. Had the rounded aperture earlier version also which was not coated.

Looks like 50 Lux.... but scarily sharp at full aperture.

That's your "holy grail", Aspherical King.
Your cup of tea - don't need PP anymore.

wow. Summitar full set and MINTY! I slipped the chance of owning a SNHOO and got the gomy one instead. Custom made for A36. Functional but not as shiny as the original one lah.

Oh, I find the Summitar hood is the ugliest thing on earth. But if you are collecting.. well...

Of course. All are welcome to try the magazine and read it. :bsmilie:

Where or how to get hold of a copy of LFI? Is this for sale some where? Or delivered free to Leica owners?
