should i buy Sony A330 or Canon 1000d

Well, the a330 is better than the 1000D, but you really should get the Pentax K-x instead. About the same price or cheaper, and can do video recording unlike the other two. Not to mention the best high ISO performance of any APS-C DSLR. Get it with the twin lens kit for $900 for a really great deal.

Really meh?

LOL.

Wow, okay. I thought 7D/1D4 was the best APS-C..

The 1D4 is an APS-H camera.

Noise isn't the only deciding factor, actually.

Anyway to TS, the A330 is the better buy by far. The 1000D is nearing the end of its shelf life and IMO loses out to many entry-level models in the market currently.

sorry for my poor english too

you need entry level cam, you got shakey hands, you don't want to spend on expensive lenses... get a sony, or an olympus if 4/3 is ok with you!

Oh, thanks for the clarification.

I see..

Although 7D is still an APS-C camera it is in a completely different price range. ($2.3k+)

1D4 is a APS-H camera, in an even higher price range.($6k++)

For the entry level price range you are looking at the k-x has arguably the best sensor, especially considering its price ($700+)

Pentax lenses are also cheaper than C or N lenses. You don't need to pay for in lens autofocus or optical stabilisation as the k-x camera body can provide these to the lens

The range of lenses is somewhat less but seriously this doesn't really affect the amateur.

I did read somewhere at an independent camera testing site that the Pentax Kx beats the 7D and D300 in some high ISO tests.

You should go check out the Pentax subforum. The pentaxians have been raving about this for a while now.

oki oki all points are noted
thanks for all the advise
hope this will also help the others too
cheers

Just read reviews on the internet. There are other great forums or reviews there. A great review page wold be the imaging resource "comparometer". You can check out both camera colours there. http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM and the DXO mark. You can check the image sensor, noise etc.there.http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/eng/Image-Quality-Database Bought my 500D with great review reading taken into consideration. Hope this helps.
