[ Shopping ] - Where to buy Lumix G 20mm 1.7f pancake lens

SLR Revolution has stocks.. $553.. I saw it yesterday.

Thanks for the tip. I got it from SLRR yesterday at the price stated. Prior to that I called AP SLS and was quoted $590.

Is $550 still about the going rate for this lens?

Try the Voigtlander 21mm f4. No doubt a slower lens, no AF, but the quality has been compared to Leica's own 21mm. And why am i not surprised: Cosina makes Zeiss lenses as well!

Seems like we have many supporters for Voigtlander lenses, see a lot of people using/posting it. May I know more about this brand? Where can I buy it and how much?

Went to Funan yesterday, checked price at AP and was told $580 because "the other shops have no stock"! And he was right.

Any idea when the stock will be in again?

Parisilk Holland Village should still have. Check with them.

I tried both Voigtlander 35/1.4 and 50/1.1 in Leica M mount on GF1, to be honest, I prefer the 20/1.7 and 14/2.5 a lot better. Those LM lenses can only focus down to 70cm or further, it's not so much fun at all. I'd rather using either the pancakes or my Pentax lenses on an m4/3.

My Voigtlander 25mm 0.95 native m43 lens focuses down to 17cm.

Just brought one one from AP at SLS for 535. No bargaining required.
the slight noise from the lens is from the aperture mechanism.. it actually constantly adjusts itself... interesting.. very different from a DSLR... me newbie in m43

Thats good to know. Thanks for the info.

But I'm pretty happy with the 20/1.7 pancake :)

I'm happy with mine too, but the two are really entirely different animals :) one is a joy to use MF, and a low-light wonder. The other is quick, small, just overall good. And then there are the (however slight) Focal Length differences. Can't be compared, really.

Add freight and taxes, plus the lack of international warranty and a chance of getting a lemon set, the whole proposition of buying an imported set seems less attractive :)
