[ Shopping ] - Price of E-PL1

They might have tricks up their sleeves, such as one that I particular like to use to disturb my friends with "Terms and conditions might change without warning to anyone before hand" or something like that :bsmilie: but yea, there is always something up their sleeves so good luck with what you're doing ;)

haha, I got $40 voucher from them, can only use at Courts, but hey, at least they honoured their words... haha...

I'd rather have $40 bucks Mac voucher so I can have my lunch after school if I have no money :bsmilie: But well,at least it worked out for you

woah, seems like courts really honor their word. but did you need to provide any evidence that HN is cheaper or they just accepted what you said?

I rather they give me money back so that I can use it to buy a decent uv filter, haha...

any update on the latest price of the single and dual lens kit?
and if the white colour one is available, or still out of stock?

unless they stock up, if not, white will be out at most places...

any updates on the recent prices of E-PL1?

Saw a recent Courts ad $998 for single lens kit. Cathay quoted $1198 for dual lens kit a week ago.

I bought at courts for 928 with single kit lens with all the original freebies. Well, actually it was 998 but the salesguy gave me 968 after I said audio house selling 968, then later found out harvey norman selling 948, so I make noise, then they gave me $40 case voucher...

Harvey Norman is $948 (single len kit) with 1x8G SD, 1 x spare compatible battery and 1 Bag.

Alan Photo is $1,138 (2 len kit) with nothing else.

Wonder if there will be better pricing at COMDEX?

My friend got it with the 14-42mm kit for slightly less than $900 during GSS. Dunno did he remember correctly not. Anyway, I got to hands-on for a while recently but we couldn't figure out some things:

1. In art filter mode, is it not possible to adjust shutter or aperture?

2. Is there a way to turn off live view in art filter mode, only review the turn out in preview?
We find the live view lags a lot for art filter mode.

3. Is bokeh achievable for the 14-42mm lens. If not, what other m43 lens can do the job?
We're both new to slr system, know nuts about lens.

1. Art filter mode is similar to auto, so you can't set much

2. There is no way to turn off, but you can shoot in any mode then add art filters in Olympus Viewer 2 later

3. Bokeh is achievable, provided you know how to, but it is easier to use something with a large aperture and/or telephoto lens, watchhere to learn more

I told them Harvey Norman cheaper, then they went to check up themselves. They found out it was indeed cheaper and with exactly the same freebies.

:lovegrin:wow looking at the current EPL1 prce I think the best promo I've seen before was Best Denki during thier Takashima road show price is 858 for kits lens with two battery, 2x8GB SD card and the bag.

so far nothing beats that promo hope to see better price in this COMEX. I have a lady friend who saw me once during birthday I was using EPL1 and they kinda like it so asking me if it is a good entry level interchangable lens cam?? I said yes it's one of the cheapest and very good pic quality m4/3 out there

I told them to check out COMEX for promo

the cost drop alot, but it still strange no body selling at 800+, all revert back to 900+....
