Got a very noob question to ask, I reached home in the evening, the sun was setting, so I took a few pics. How do you take pictures of sunset/sunrise when the sun is so bright? My "aiming" eye hurt after 10 plus pics.

I know this is the wrong forum for critiques, but since we're on this topic... anyone cares to give comments on the pic I took?
my views:
1) sun is well taken
2) composition is unimaginative and very common, i would call it snapshottish, even
3) silhouettes do not add to image, rather they take away from it
my opinion is that you should try to get a gnd filter (graduated neutral density) and try to find something interesting to put in the foreground
either that or, wait for a really really good sky that can stand alone by itself
