me. but just the No. 4 shirt and pants though, not the boots and gutters - i'm not THAT crazy. and i can't think of anything else that won't tear easily, except jeans/denim but that's too hot to wear.

The paintball arena is located at an external location of Orchid country Club. At the main entrance of the club, there is a guard booth. Check with them how to get to the arena. Walking from the security booth to the arena would take less than 3 mins.

Aye... i think we should. Ransoma my friend... prepare your laundry detergent at home. You're going to get very splattered with paint by the time we are done with you. :blah:

Be afraid, be very afraid

Notice:

The first post of this thread (Page 1, Post number 1) has been updated with all those who are going and what you need to bring. Please refer to it if in doubt.

Thank you.

Too bad I can't join you guys either as a participant or a spectator - away on business trip that weekend.

Hope you all have a fun but safe time!

Just to remind - There is a shuttle bus service between Orchid Country Club and Yishun MRT which operates every 10-15 minutes. Just wait at the bus stop outside the Yishun MRT station (you can see a signboard with the shuttle times) and you can hop on the shuttle bus when it trundles along. However, the shuttle bus stops a way inside Orchid Country Club, thus you have to walk out (less than 5 mins) to the entrance where the Paintball arena is.

Please remember to post pics once the event is over.

Thanks for the reminder! :D A shame you can join us. There will probably be more of such outings in time to come.

Anyhow, as for pictures, anyone bringing their gear? If so, please let us know. But please understand that you are bringing it in at your own risk and no one, neither the management of tag paintball or liable in anyway if an accident does happen or if your camera/equipment gets damaged in anyway.

Cheers. :)

So, anyone keen? :p

We just had a company event at Tag Paintball, so thought i'd post some pictures to let you guys see what the place is like.

Shot with 135/2, some with a 1.4x convertor.

The targets you're supposed to shoot - the small red and yellow figures.
It's not easy, bcoz
1) the guns are not zeroed
2) the guns are not powerful enough to hit the same spot consistently
3) other people will be firing at you. :D
pb_01.jpg

The instructor and the air-gun used. The tank on top holds the ammo. Can forget about looking 'garang' - the orange balls make you look cartoon.
pb_06.jpg

The ammo box you're supposed to grab and bring back to your own base. It was empty when we played. i guess you can grab and run off with it with one hand. i didn't get a chance to touch that box though.
pb_09.jpg

Even ladies can play.
pb_17.jpg

Covers for you to shoot from. This is probably the best cover - complete protection and comfy shooting position. Most of the rest are waist height.
pb_18.jpg

Break-for-the-box sequence (successful one):
pb_19.jpg

pb_20.jpg

pb_21.jpg

pb_22.jpg

Paintball leaving barrel, 300+km/h.
pb_26.jpg

You can wear shorts and short sleeves. Just don't get hit.
pb_27.jpg

If you go for the box, everyone will be firing open volleys at you...
pb_34.jpg

And if you don't drop the box, they *WILL* keep firing.
pb_35.jpg

Paintball hit on the hand. Quite painful, so i heard.
pb_39.jpg

Wear old clothes...
pb_41.jpg

... that you can run in.
pb_43.jpg

i shot (pictures, not paintballs) from the outside, through a green netting, which is why the pictures look degraded. If only i knew they'd let me in. If you're shooting through the netting, remember to shoot wide open. It will give maximum blur on the netting.

However, if you want to shoot from the inside, you'd be shooting with those masks on. They don't stink (that much) but may fog up. For SLRs, you may be too far to see the whole viewfinder; the mask fits even over your specs. Also, a paintball hit on the lens will *very likely* crack the filter - not sure if it will go through. i think you can forget about taking picture inside without the mask on. A hit on the eyes with blind you.

There is an elevated position (like a referee's) in the middle of the field, which should be ideal for one person, with a 70-400 range lens. Can try asking permission to shoot from there. Should get some pretty solid shots.

Have fun, guys.

Hey ST;

Have not seen you around for awhile now. Looks like your company had fun. :) Thank you for the sharing your shots with us. I was actually wondering how on earth you got to shoot without the net showing.. only realised the "technique" you employed when i read about it. :embrass:

Anyhow, Ladies and Gentlemen, now that you have seen the shots, i think everyone has a pretty good idea how it's going to be play and what the place looks like.

It's going to be fun...

Given that you are all photographers (or at least Clubsnappers), i think this is a wonderful opportunity to shoot. You really should consider sending one or two photogs into the arena during play. Ask to borrow the referee's (neutral's) luminous green vest, or bring your own. And of course, all must try hard not to hit the photog. It's pretty expensive to play, so might as well make use of the opportunity. (i see among the list of players street-shooters, bird-shooters, portrait/fashion shooters, sports-shooters... wow can't wait to see the pictures.)

i forgot to take some pictures of the bruises... maybe someone can remember to document that. ;) (C'mon, there WILL be bruises, right?) :D

Well, there are bound to be bruises  And well, i am not too sure if anyone is willing to risk their equipment in the arena...

Why do you ask? :)

Wolfgang
I get the impression that you plan to shoot the hect out of those who are gunning for you - and you sound quite confident in getting them.
So based on that - you must be handling weapons and have handled weapons on a regular basis. :D

Am i correct - or am I all wrong

Cheers
