On the export site canon 24-70 is usd1399 x 1.30 higher side to convert + 7% GST = S1950 but on local site is $2199. I emailed n ask why, they replied: do not look at export site. That's for exporting, local has taxes... So I replied, can u ship to Malaysia for me then... No replied anymore...

That is quite a difference! I'm curious about how they would explain their Sg pricing in light of what you've pointed out.

prices match the demand. Singaporeans are heavy consumers. They up the stakes to make it more lucrative for them. We will still buy because they are still cheaper

I don't think the new ddelectronics prices are worth the difference anymore - some items are even more expensive than if you bought a local set (cash price of course). I think one needs to be very careful when buying from them. Don't assume just because it's a grey set (without agent warranty) then it has to be cheaper. Lesson - do your homework.

I think they explained that forex affects their prices. Yes, but defn must do homework. Some items have moved 20% up in prices. I bought my 17-40 at $980 but I think it's 1100+ now which is same as street price.

The 5d mk ii is like $300 more than street.
