These are perhaps the last two shots that I had taken of the Harlequin in Singapore...... I wish someone could prove me wrong !
From Apr 2006 till my last visit on 16th March 2013 they had always being there to greet me when I dropped in to say " Hello" .........even in the last two years when they were forced into a small area of about 10 square meters, there were always a few flitting away in that confined area .
Today, for the first time, they were totally absent ............YES, NOT a Single one ! The day that we dreaded finally came !
Found out that an internet thief had stolen hundreds of butterfly shots from the net including a number of mine... and posted on his Facebook as his own.
This is my new personalized watermark with a Taoism touch to stop people from stealing my shots on the Lunar Ghost month !
Too bad it spoil the shot....
The Banded Peacock ( Papilio palinurus palinurus )
Beautiful collections. Did not realize that our tiny island has such varieties of butterflies. Thank you Bluesteel for this thread. Really amazing.
Btw, can anyone ID this species? Saw it while walking in the early evening with my wife at Pasir Ris Park. Only have my EOS-M with 18 - 55 standard zoom. I thought I saw a similar one somewhere in this thread. Is it the Plain Tiger butterfly?
