The Paralaxita species are among the most beautiful of the the Malayan butterflies. They reside on the dimly lit undergrowth of the thick tropical primary forest .

Nothing is known as yet of their early stages. The genus is Neomalayan, with a small extension into south Mynmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

The species is confined to lowland forest of Malaya proper and found amongst the undergrowth in the darkest recesses of the forest.
