u fussy lah..

recent pix got nothing to do with gear, still pretty much shooting the same way..
but have been denoising and sharpening more aggressively in post.
that's why the lancer still lacks a shine..
so still to explore the cam some more..

is'nt that gear dependent liaoz??.. lol...
u do not need to denoise so much if using a E3 or E30 ah...

butt activities beri low at this time of the year...
spotted a common mormon.... only had a few minutes before it flew off...
not the best, sharing....

The Singapore Rhododendron bushes flower and fruit regularly, and when the fruits ripen, they attract many species of butterflies to feed on them and give photographers a better chance at shooting the usually skittish butterflies. These are two examples of butterflies that feed on the sweet fruits of this common bush.

NIKON D50
Shutter Speed: 1/125 second
Aperture: F/3.8
Focal Length: 180 mm

It is still possible to get the butterfly sharp througout with a large apeture if u align them to your camera sensor.

The female of the Common Mormon is on top, as observed, most females do the flying during mating; the males tend to hitch a ride :P

Very sharp close-up shot! Very pretty emerald green eye, don't you think so? :)

Thanks! Yes, it is the emerald eyes that captured my attention ;).

Speaking of which, you should try getting closer for a face shot if the butterfly allows you to. Shoot the eyes for your personal collection. Read about the whole spectrum of variations in the butterflies' eyes in this blog article. :)

Neopithecops zalmora zalmora is a very tiny species and it is usually encountered singly in the dark shaded forest areas. The large black spot on the hindwing is very distinct and contrast with the white base of the undersides of the wings. It has a feeble, fluttering and erratic flight, usually at no more than a metre above the ground .

Can anyone pls help id what this is?
Tks in advance
