for users of ricoh grd
Wat is this specific advantages of ricoh grd tht makes people buy it?

i dun want specifications, i wan those who use it n tell me more bout the feel of it

i own a fuji v10

Quite like it cause it kind of easy to operate

but is the malfunction of the ccd tht comes on n off makes me fustrate, went n repair, haven get back

my hands now is rather itchy

The feel... its like driving a volvo.. solid! Once u tried a GRD, other compacts feel like toys...

anyway.
is tht camera a PROfessional slr?
cause i saw some guy havein an additional lens filter

i only intended to buy another good p n s a camera
cause i never learnt how to use slr camera

so if i say
after some thought
generally
i dont like fuji, pentax, olympus, ...
wat camera would u users recommend me,
not slr
just a normal digital camera with digital zoom

aso, heres a question
everytime in the camera specs
they will give this info:

28 mm - 160 mm (5.7x) zoom lens

i everytime see user not wanting to buy certain camera because of the reason on top
so wats the best (mm) lens[duno how u call it] to look out for?
ot is the mm lens thing aso mus be proporionate to the opical zoom then will be considered a good lens for image quality?

currently, i duno wats tht mm lens thing
so i just ask these question
my facts might be wrong
so can any1 explain
i cant find an explanation in the internet
thts why i ask in forum

haha

Sorry took so long to post the pic, very busy lately

Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the setup:

63515482.ZezhI7hc.GRDIRSetup02.jpg

Basically, the setup is the same for the 21mm wide-converter. Just replace the 21mm with an IR filter, plus a converter to step-down to 37mm. As u can see, I'm using a 46mm(that's the smallest IR filter Hoya is producing) filter with a 37-46 converter. If u have a 52mm filter, u will need to to get a 37 to 46, and a 46 to 52 converter.

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing. really appreciate the photos of the setup u posted.

btw, just realised u strap ure GRD different from mine...

How different is the strap? Anyway, the strap isn't the one that came in the box. It was given as a free gift :)

Here's another IR shot I took with the GRD some time ago ...

i have the same orig ricoh grd strap as u. mine strap is attached at the left side of the GRD instead of the top, so tat can slip into the case easily.

anyway, cool IR shot!:D

Good displays of GRD's powers :D

I'm very impressed with the GrD after a fairly long time of considerations.

my samples are in the thread here

someone in the cinema prob didn't like zhang ziyi;p

but hey, i love tis movie, and they prob might as well give me the poster. one of zhang ziyi's best performance.

Hi guys! A couple of IR shots to share. Also, just wanted to check with the others using the GRD for IR, do u get hotspot problems. For me, the hotspots seem to be getting more obvious, like in pic #2 ... Just wondering :) Oh, BTW, I'm using a R72 filter ...

interesting...wouldn't bumping up shapness to plus 2 result in more noise?

i used to use either normal settings or contrast -1 with saturation +1.

nw trying out all settings to max after looking at the fotos on this site http://www.flickr.com/photos/nacoki/sets/72057594061269305/

I'm not too sure how much noise it adds.. but i'm a person who loves deep contrast and tat's wat works for me :)

seen the set of pics.. and i'm still trying to work my way them..hehe
