Last evening went to a 7th month GeTai, so many kids and so many elderly ones, where are those in between?

Er.. she is also RF newbie. Still struggling like sotong... haha..
We both will need all the advice and criticism from our good RF community here.

What a setup! A warm welcome.

Thank you so much for your welcome, hookonclassic!
I saw on the Leica Facebook a shooter called Dave Cheng who took a shot of the Fullerton with his model in silhouette.
It was a really lovely mood shot.
I tried to emulate his work. But... just did not come out with the same effect. Haha...

Bro where did you measure your exposure? You should try to take the exposure reading on your model.

ZoomP,
Thanks for coming in.
Actually my intention was to make her a silhouette with some rim-light if possible. Cos I remember that shooter called Dave, his shot which was so inspiring to me, had an effect like that.
But the effect escaped me.
So I thought maybe instead of making her a complete silhouette I just bring up some details on her face from the dark.
Haha..

Oh.. ZoomP, thanks for your recommendation. I went in today and gotten the lens already! Yeah!! Haha..

No lah, Ah Chua.. I am a total newbie. Just experimenting only lah... Really...

I am enjoying this lovely lens right now. The wide angle style suits me well as both my wife and I have been UWA shooters.
And the rendition of the tones and the separation of the subject at its widest is mind-blowing to an RF newbie like me.

As I gain more knowledge of the way RF shooters shoot, I understand that the candidness, the spontaneity of the moment matters a lot.
The emotions portrayed, in all its rawness would mean a successful conveyance of the story.
Thus I newbie-ly attempt some candid shots.

Unfortunately, unlike many of you professional shooters, I have only one and the only model.
And she happens to be around me almost 24hours a day.
So my candid shot must be of her. Pardon me on that.

This shot was taken under extreme low light condition. The only light was coming from the MacBook Pro behind and from the TV
in front. I set the ISO at 2500, and the picture quality to Jpeg fine with Colour Saturation at Vintage Black and White, because one
shooter said if your ISO is very high, render it in B&W and it will be nice. So I just tried it like that.

Sorry... if this shot cannot make it, please let me know.
This is nowhere near the professional portraiture work of many of you senior RF shooters.
Still... it is a form of portraiture, I guess. Thanks for sharing with me your opinions.
