As I venture further into RF photography, I recently acquired another 'affordable' RF/Lens, Cosina 107-SW with 15mm f/4.5. Due to an upcoming trip I need to quickly work on landscape type of photography and get use to using it. Digital camera will have to stay at home.
Lessons learnt:
a) Camera metering can be deceiving, especially when there is a lot of sky. The wide angle lens do attract a lot of stray lights and thus affecting the metering.
b) No too sure about parallax error and the correct compensation when composing, especially in portrait orientation
c) Watch out for finger getting into pictures
d) Composition for such a wide lens can be difficult
Things i like:
a) Scale focusing on this lens is rather simple.
b) Led indicating under/over exposure on the body is great.
c) Very light weight
d) Pictures are fine even at slow shutter speed if you can hold it stable enough
If you have experience, any good tips using this lens or any other constructive feedback, please do share. Thanks.
In my first roll of film (Kodak UltraMax 400), I only got 4 out of 36 shots that 'made it'.
