I can't either, but I sure don't see any "Uncles" sitting at the road like he did in Singapore nor Malaysia!!

Cool shot indeed.....

35 Cron asph, Tri X 1+167, Yabuli, Harbin - minus 20C, MP worked just fine in these extreme conditions, meter batteries died immediately from cold :)

the cold was so extreme, so dry, the snow on the ground felt like beach sand

Not exactly sure how this happened, probably an issue with the film advance. This was the first of a series of 3 overlapping frames, but this particular one turned out quite well IMO, captures the energy of the ringside action..

2nd in the series of my 3-frame overlaps.. very strange..

M3/Lux 50mm e43/Tri-x/Rodinal 1+100 stand

Nice! It turned out really well ;)

New York rarely ever gets that cold. Lots of snow yes, but never that cold. If you want cold, you'd have to go to the American Midwest around Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan etc. :bsmilie:

Though there was once I was down in DC and it was bloody -24 in daylight. Cold as hell and hot chocolate was required to fight it off.

I did have a small lakeside cabin 90 miles north of the city in millbrook and experienced -15C to -25C weather but with windchill, harbin was -33C without and when the wind kicked up even gently it was cold beyond belief...anyways the point being...hurray for mechanical cameras! The MP took a licking but kept on tickin' :bsmilie:

Good to know that mechanical M can survive in extreme weather:thumbsup:

PS. are you there on business? building a hotel there? I heard Club Med has setup shop there.

Hi Vince, thanks...yes club med has a setup here but no, I went there to ski...Ive got hotel projects coming up in harbin and shenyang though....highly recommend yabuli, the powder is really soft, foods pretty good too

Yup, the mechanical M worked like a charm...batteries die instantly in that cold...

anything battery dependent works for just a little bit, just gotta keep it inside your coat or somewhere out of the cold....didnt risk bringing the M9 for this weather. The MPs low battery warning came on within 2 minutes even though I put new batteries in....Wife had to keep her little digital warm with a heat pack and in her coat all the time, just so she could use it.

anyways you can hold the cam out like we normally do as your hands automatically want to seek your pockets....even with ski gloves...
