thanks. i use fuji provia 100f most of the time for color, iford for bw. seldom change.

cf lenses are fantastic, i am loving it. seldom see this kind of rich but soft exposures with my OM zuikos.

Thanks ... I concur, rich and "soft", although I would call it a good representative of "analog", even at its sharpest (both scanned and particularly printed), for lack of a description at the moment :)

I give you    for this!

Thanks, Ansel. Well, I just take the picture, a great model is a huge part of the equation too, like they really like her at Flickr ...

Are you guys getting your photos professionally scanned? I was trying to duplicate them with a digital camera (basically firing a Speedlite through my transparencies in a makeshift holder) and the results came out just horrible. Great slides, horrible digitizing process ;)

I scan MF film myself, after getting disappointing results with the shops. Their scanners are certainly much better in sharpness and resolution, but they didn't know how to get the right skin tones, especially with slides. I for one just learned how to get it better this week (after several months :embrass: ), so scanning is certainly not just a "plug and play" type of process.

I also used to take pictures of the negatives on a lightbox, but they were just too small. Not too bad with the right lens, ok for small-size pictures to show on a computer screen, but not for archiving.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My main workflow is all digital, so I was hoping to be able to integrate the slides into that with just a macro lens and proper lighting (after all, it's just a transparency) but when I did it as described above the grain really looks terrible. I know they shouldn't be that grainy, I've seen other scans which came out much nicer. Still need to work on it.. might cave in and buy a flatbed in the end.

I scan the films myself, epson 4870. Non-professional results, good enough to satisfy a non-professional hobby.

Hasselblad 503cw, 80mm and 50mm cf lens, Ilford FP4 and Provia 100F respectively.

Lazy ass, I seldom dev b&w myself now, Fotohub helps, superior consistency.

Wow, great pics!

For web sharing, a simple scan will do, it's more than enough as your pics show. If I really like an image I can get it professionally scanned and print enlargements.

How much do they charge you for B&W, same as color slides?

6$ and 3.4$ less 10% discount for 120mm and 4x5 slides. 120mm BW is 5$ per roll.

So cheap

I have had to travel recently because of work and the overseas costs (I asked because curious) are just mind blowing. S$18 to develop one roll..!! basket better wait till I get home to do my film ;)

It's a pity because there are many nice landscapes overseas. Work sucks I know, but might as well make the most of the 'fringe benefits' if there are any

With the new Provia 400X 120 film (bought from Ruby) ... and usual Hassy 503Cw, 180mm; vignette added during PS ....
