Really, ur pics really can be printed out & hang out as poster ... so lovely :)

btw, u take it without stand?

am still unable to get used to focus using the magnifier n then lower it down to compose - by then the focus is out liao ... hmmmm headache ... :bsmilie:

Thank you for your kind words. I would love to take all the credit but seriously, these images are 95% location and 5% photographer. If anyone else were standing right there they would have taken approximately the same picture, and probably even better. It's that beautiful the Canadian Rockies, almost like being in a postcard. All you have to do is ensure that the image is level, the expose is right then press the button. Everywhere you turn there's a picture to take. The really good photographer can take extraordinary pictures out of the most ordinary subjects. :) I know because I find it so difficult to find anything to shoot in Singapore.

Yup, no tripod. Too leh cheh. With Velvia 50 and MF, you need to be outdoors or the image won't happen.

I usually focus AND compose with the magnifier up. I find that there's too much stray light that enters the finder and makes it difficult to compose. As such, I get an approximate composition, focus, then recompose and shoot. :)

Hahhaha, I go no idea,
I didn't play with the sliders in Lightroom. Probably it was due to the scanning as there isn't an ektar profile in the Silverfast software

Didnt use any color filters either

:dunno::dunno:

Mysterious...

This looks like those CG environment hehehhe
What time did you have to wake up to get this shot? I can't find the sun at all

Let's see, I woke up at about 9am, went to another location before ending up here. This was taken at I would say about 12 noon and the sun was right behind me. At this time of the year and at this latitude, the sun doesn't get very high up. I'd say maybe 30 deg above the horizon at most before setting. I guess that worked to my benefit. :) I used a polarizer and that helped to saturate the sky even more. (Not to mention coupling that we the already saturating effects of Velvia) I know, almost cheating. :)

Wonder if its due to the Xray or the storage, kept too long inside the hot car boot :p

Hello

Thx for the explanation :) really appreciate them :)

Btw, what's the shutter speed that you can manage to hold the camera steady pon pipi?

wow! U managed to capture the grasshopper?!?!?! cool!

using ur mamiya C200?

btw, taken using tripod? sorry just wanna learn fr ya experts :)

Hiya,

taken with my Mamiya C330F with 80mm lens..

Hand held (2.8F at 1/125)

Parallex compensation done by tilting the camera to face upwards, would have perfered the paramender and a tripod (would have been able to go closer then) but this was an impromtu shoot so i didnt bring it along..

Hope that helps!

BTW, because of the mirrorless nature of TLRS i've had success holding it at 1/4, but at that speed its pretty much hit or miss.

Hi Kiari04. I've read that 1/(focal length) is a good rule of thumb for handheld shots. i.e. min speed with a 40mm lens would be 1/40 sec. That seems to work pretty well for me. If you rounded that down to 1/30 for a 40mm I think that would probably still work.

Anyway, here's an image taken at Coeur d'Alene Lake.

I like your B&Ws. Especially the one on page 32. Perhaps when I return home I will experiment with B&W close ups of flowers. I have no capability to process or print B&Ws here. I used to print at SAFRA Alexandra. Is that still around?

Here's an image of some lake boats.
