seriously speaking, how do u manage to make her stand still for u to compose the pic, get it in focus & fire the shutter? I had a great hard time trying to photo my son ... keep running here n there ... wish he can stand still & pose for me :bsmilie:

My sister got her attention with her favourite toy, so all it took was to focus, and anticipate the moment where she'll be still and BAM, take the shot.

Of course, having much patience helps as well.

Hi plsoong, where are you at? Autumn in Idaho is not in the least bit spectacular. :( If you were in Virginia, North Carolina or Pennsylvania you would be in the perfect place to capture the Autumn colours.

An 80mm will do just fine, just stand a little further back! ;)

I do have a prism finder but I don't particularly fancy using it. There's something magical to me about the waist level finder. :) My camera has a built in spot meter that's pretty accurate so that's what I've been using.

Hi hi,

I'm in Germany .... :-) and erm....... yeah...i can try to stand further back.....but either the perspective/composition gets screwed up or i get screwed over falling over ridge lines :D heheheheh!

your camera has a built in spot meter?!?!?!?!

wait wait....your hassy has a built in spot meter? sorry for being so ignorant..but which body is that?

Very nice, love the colors

You can try using a Raynox-250 Diopter infront of your 80mm - Cheap alternative to macro. Be careful with the depth of field though...

yo neoro.....

erm......i hear a warning in your last sentence...heheheh...

mind sharing with this idiot here what to be careful about? :)

thanx heaps!

Germany? Cool! You must share some pictures. I suppose the perspective does change a little with an 80mm over a 40mm, but I still think you can take heaps of beautiful pictures with it.

I have the Hasselblad 205FCC. This camera has a built in spot meter which comes in really handy. However like many other V series products, this camera was discontinued in 2004.

took this on my bronica ETRs with the 150mm/f3.5 lens @ f8... b4 the battery died. i stitched 3 pics together. nothing fancy cos i am still coming to terms with this camera... :embrass:

Wow, hassy 205!!!!! DROOLSSSSSSS!!!!!!

haiy...i have still not gotten my hands on a spot meter..... :(

DOF becomes very thin in exchange of the extra magnification. I just tried the 120 Makro lens, with 85mm Tube and the Raynox, i got some superb magnification, lets just see how it turns out when I sent it in for development on Monday :p

Ektar 100 :p
Hope I don't messed up the exposures..

How about mailing your slides to a lab overseas? I've read on other forums that it can be done at very reasonable rates with a turn round time of under a week. Might be something to consider if prices are exorbitant in Germany.

I just looked on ebay and it seems you could get a spotmeter for under $100? I haven't tried it but I've also been told you can use the metering off a digital camera and that works pretty good too.

Anyway here's an image of Sulphur Mountain, Canadian Rockies.

WOW!!! Beeeeeeaaaaauuuutiful pictures!

Next time b4 i return to Singapore, I will beep u to get some itinieries for where n how to go about in the Canadian Rockies!

The problem is that in Germany, the VAT is extremely high!

so its just as irritating trying to send overseas for development of colour stuff.

In the end, I just shoot mostly b&w.......and develope it myself....

Now that really sucks, having to pay ridiculous prices where you're at. Well look on the bright side, I'm sure you can get a beautiful Mercedes Benz or BMW for a fraction of what it would cost in Singapore, so BIG savings there. :) That certainly is the case here. I guess you win some and you lose some.

If you're ever going to make the trip across the pond to the US and Canada, I would recommend much more than just the Canadian Rockies. I can tell you much much more about it. The bulk of American National Parks line the West Coast so you could go from the Rockies down South to Yellowstone, Glacier, Yosemite, Death Valley, Arches, Canyonland, Grand Canyon... the list goes on. Anyway, the drive through the Rockies is very easy. Just 1 highway that goes North-South. Everything is just off the highway. The image posted above I took right off the highway. This is no kidding what you see as you're driving. Pulled over and took no more than 2 minutes to capture.

okay...so i should still get the 85mm?

85mm is a fast and common focal length. More user friendly for most general application as I think it comes back to about 50mm on the 35mm formant (landscape and portrait wise :p)

These are simply lovely!
Is Contax 645 the Autofocus Medium format?
Do you know how much does one cost now?
Keep shooting+posting man! :)
