Somewhere along the PIE (Toa Payoh actually). 3 mins @ f45.

Image has alot of noise after scanning . it is due to the scanning process or under exposure?

hi Lao Da,

Very nice shot you got there... I especially like the white arrows from the bottom of the picture .. leading with the red lines into the top left of the picture.

This is a tough shot, even tougher if you are doing it in film.

The noise you are seeing is definitely due to under-expose. However, in this shot, the dark areas are meant to be dark because without the dark area, the RED lines will not appear nicely. Personally, I feel that the exposure for this is OK ( although I did not see the real thing ).

Based on this shot, I will say that you can try a 6~8 mins exposure next time.

well done there,
Billy

ok thanks...i think the scanner is trying to pick up details from the road. maybe there are other settings in Vuescan that I have not learn yet. i will try 6 or 8 mins next time. i still trying to find a good vantage point for more curve roads. something like this by Thomas Birke : http://www.birke.net/img/large/tokyo/tokyo-25-preview.jpg
Nice curve with well exposed buildings. any suggestions?

2 Minute Exposure

Punggol

Trying out long exposure on Velvia, hope to do more than 10 minutes soon.

many many years ago, I have tried like 30mins to 45 mins exposure for roads. And they turn out beautifully.

You have to reach the location at the instance where the sky is about to turn dark already ( or should I say, just about to turn dark ).
You should open your shutter when the sky is blue, then close when the sky is completely dark....

we can go do some polaroid this few days :)

call me,
Billy

Very interesting way to use this paper, a must try! We expect to see a person, but the person seems like a double exposure! Its just freaky.

die, should not have come here.. this front tilt is very poisonous!!!!

now i know the power of a view camera... even a tilt shift lens can't do this..

i feel that LF camera will be very useful for subject isolation..

what the exposure time again? seems like the person moved during the exposure but again the shadow of the person is pretty fixed. interesting

F5.6, 15 sec, iso 3, slight shift, no swing.

The interesting thing is that this photo is a single shot 15sec exposure subject. I swear the lady (my working school teacher) is inside the frame from the start of the exposure till the end while not moving. I share the paper 12 / 12 with patrick and this piece is a test shot so we can see the result with developing together. I'm shock that it turn out that patrick told me that there is no person appearing when he is still agitating the tray as i look at the timer. So we decide to extend developing from 2min 15sec to 3min. Then we notice that the person appear and is transparent. This has never happened before and is my first time such things happened. Hope someone can explain it. (There is no double exposure!)
