Wah Reservoir88! Lovely tonal contrast!

Day 4:
Group 1:- Sunrise & the 'Rise' of the fishing net

Group 2:- Marble Mountain

Early morning 4:45am Group 1 gathered at the lobby sleepily while Group 2 remained sleeping soundly in their warm beds...
Here as we walked out... I could only make out what appeared to be a bright speck on reflection on a Marble-like head...

Sleepily we trudged into our water vessels.. Don't ask me what it was. It was too dark, I can't make it out.
And the shore looked like this to my black and white film camera.

Wow! Now I know why you are known as Lowlights. You can get it so sharp even in such low light!:thumbsup:

I climbed up, then SereneXMM she misses me and she dumped all her gears to LowLights, and she climbed up looking for me.
Then she found me. Then we hold hands...

Man, you also subscribe to the feeling-ful gang ah, LowLights?!
So memorable, and so feeling, this shot!

...

This one is very equipment dependent lah .. but thanks .. :)

Nice shot... equipment dependent?
Nah, it's shooter dependent.
Especially after a long wait sitting on the steps studying this child carefully, in between having to fight crazy abusive tourists with vulgar foul linguistic bombardments.. Thumbsup!

Day 4: Sunrise Net shooting...

So, while Group 2 was still enjoying their warm beds, those poor fellows in Group one were out floating on some ill-defined vessels..
The invisible sun was just beginning to lift its head over the horizon, without revealing itself to any of us on this impossible mission.

... and our small boat sails out to the Hoi An River in the dark of dawn...

.. and even as the light from the sun began to stream into the canopy, a couple of severely sleep-deprived individuals were still struggling to shake off their ZZzzz bugs...

Yupe. The sun is up. The sun could see us, but we couldn't see it. LOL...

"Nah! There is the landing..." pointed SereneXMM.

True enough. The landing was there. And we landed on land.
And to find what?
YES! The very famous round-basket-floating-apparatus that is so pathognomonic of Central Vietnam!
Ms Han, our guide told us that this is called the Thuyen Thung in Vietnamese.

Wow... excitement builds up within the soldiers. And all gotten their gears readied.
Vngks and his trusty bazooka ready to go...

The peacefulness of dawn was broken by the gentle lapping of the sea onto the boat and Thuyen Thungs.
And fishermen and boatpeople were starting their day's work.

Again, the friendly nature of the Hoi An fishing-people shone through the mistiness of the morning.

"Dar, some more water taxi yah!" exclaimed the SereneXMM... and the brave Rangefinder warrior fired away without hesitation.
My goodness... did I see wrongly here..? Was this courageous young lady half-soaked in river water?

The whole shore was literally littered with Thuyen Thungs and sampans...
It reminded me of a scene in 'Saving Private Ryan' by Tom Hanks... Only here it is totally peaceful.

Marble Head guarded my rear as I looked for an unused Thuyen Thung to relief my pent-up bladder.
After that, I was refreshed again and found my inspiration in these people on the water taxi.
What a slow, easy, almost carefree style of life they are leading.

Oh...! Yeah! Adrian sets boats to see the fisherman employing his big Classic Net to fish fish...
Ok Ok Okayes.... Let's cheong towards this.
This is what we were coming to Central Vietnam to see...

The golden hour delivers its promise of golden light, but no golden sun seen.
Today the Golden Sun that SgTrekker indented was on Medical Leave...
