One word. SWEE!

Lovely thread and awesome pictures to boot. Keep the story and pictures coming. Can't wait to see the rest of the trip. I wish I could join you guys some day.

Hi guys, been unwell yesterday and got diarrhea today presumably from hawker center food. Ha ha.

ClemC – I remembered you once asked me what's there to shoot in Sri Lanka. Well, either you are just being humble or underestimated yourself. The 1st 2 shots were impressive esp. the 2 fishermen with shadows. Both simple yet powerful.

You guys may not able to see many (or none) food photography as the anchored man was not around. Perhaps at a less fast and furious pace also.

Here's 2 shots of our hotel “backyard”

First time I ever hear of you divinemoment falling sick on a trip! Haha... Hope you are better.
And... Phew! Your LE shots in monochrome is most remarkable, divinemoment! Some more got bird sitting on top!
Wow.. Anyway.. You are no leas fast and furious. You are merely a little under-the-weather right now.
Just wait until you recover, and the pace will pick up!!

Finally got Divinemoment to start Posting.. Yipee.. Told you to eat more curry at Sri Lanka, if you have listened you might be better equiped to fight the diarrhea bug in SG.. GET WELL FAST OK.. Divinemoment - I'm still learning what/how to shoot :) in Sri Lanka... guess it is a little late now to redo some shots.. LOL...

I'm impressed with the thoughts you put in before you photograph a shot/pic.. that is one part I'm learning.. like your "Fish Auction" Pic & "Still & Motion Dancing" Pic (yet to be posted).. and there will be many more to come..

Your minimialist approach for this trip is coming through in the two pics posted.. I miss the first location in our hotel "backyard" :) and the second pic of the lone tree is NICE, I like.. I was capturing the motion of kids+tides whereas you were capturing the beauty of stillness... nice...

One word. SWEE!
Thanks for your encouragement.. Still trying, Still learning..

Whow - just to answer your earlier query - that squating girl-girl not SimiLING... It is another LING.... it is Colin's darLING.... :)

Almost forgot to post this. Our first arrival (ClemC and myself) was greeted by a dead corpse (whale) not far away from our hotel which we were told had committed suicide since last night. The stench was still bearable at this point of time but in the evening when it was cut up, gosh..........

Ah, something wrong with photo. Water not level !!

Yes.. Divinemoment.. the stench get bad in the last afternoon and worst in the night.. when Group2 was with us for the supper walkabout along Brown Beach..
I have pics of the whale being cut up for "sushi"... guess two Excavators were still not enough to pull the creature up to shore... not a pleasant sight :( At night, we could see the internal organs, etc.. being buried at the beach.. (grave dug up by excavators)...

Just remembered a nice capture on Day 00.. Group2 arrrived after sunset (flight delayed) and we decided to go for a walkabout & light supper. Walk along Brown Beach and then proceed to our supper place. Caught this image along Lewis Place. Colin spotted a "target" and I have the relatively easy job of just pointing my camera, frame & shoot. :) Guess that is the advantage of travelling with like-minded companions.. all with a mind on Photography. I guess we have learnt from each other as we progress from day to day. I certainly gained from all the photographers on this trip :)

I didn't find any more good shoots at the Negombo Fish Market. Miss the silhouette shoot of the Fisherman clearing their Net. Next, will post a few shots of the Oruva Boats.

[Divinemoment spotted this Fish Head and was his toy for a few minutes, waiting to see his shoots... :) ]

I was just a few steps away from some guys shooting the silhouette and I also totally missed it. Next time as per rule, must walk about and not just assume a single position.

The fish head, ha ha, I did have fun with it.
