I  the smile on her face!!!

Ya, a very sweet girl. Too bad I didn't get a clear shot of her hugging the old man (working on some carpentry work). Think chucky1 has a shot with pretty good isolation from the background....chucky1, post post post. :)

I brought my recently converted NEX3 on this trip and tried the 460nm filter (I think). Still struggling with the PP so I end up with mostly overly cooked IR photos. Here's some for sharing and laugh if you must..haha, there are more to come ;p

Hello, how sure are you that he is a Hindu ? Maybe he is an Indian Buddhist lei ? :) That said, nice capture.:)

Not sure at all. But hindusim meets buddhism sounds more interesting than buddhism meets buddhism

Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Terminal, Leh

I personally thought that the chairs outside the terminal building, were kinda "funny" and looked out of place ... :dunno:

This a gem. Good shot.

Ladakh lies in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, the northernmost state of India. A mountainous area also known as Trans Himalaya or the Cold Desert. We embark on this mystical journey to discover stunning desert landscapes, secluded monasteries, warm and friendly locals and a scenery like no other.

Love the night shot with the tents. Luckily no wayang, silhouette or blue film.

More shots of our excursion on Day 2...

We woke up on the 3rd day with anticipation of what was to come. I remember trying to deal with the high altitude at Leh and was thankful to Dr Charles for the dosage of Diamox the night before which seemed to settle any minor AMS that was affecting me. After a hearty breakfast, we were off! An hour's drive brought us to the trailhead at Spituk Village. The weather started to drizzle a little but the our guide Landup said it was good as we would be walking in an open exposed trail for the first few hours. This means it would be relatively pleasant and cool albeit slightly wet weather as compared to being exposed to the scorching sun...

Our objective today was Zingchen village, not so much a village but a small campsite with 2 families residing there. They operate the Daisy campsite which houses campers enroute to Stok Pass. It was basically a 6 hr trek deep into the mountains...

Where did you say we were going again?

Came across this beautiful baby. Her family was patching up the roads and left her in a bundle of warm blankets in the drizzling rain. She was biting and chewing stuff from the ground so we gave her a cookie. Apparently she made an even greater mess with the chocolate cookie so i cleaned her up abit before moving along...

Enroute to Zingchen, we trekked through cold barren desert terrain, along the Indus river, past multi-coloured mountains and rocky paths.

Basically an idea to show you how desolate the place is... trekkers on the left for scale

1. Definitely a tiny airport. The whole terminal could have fit into Changi's T3 food court ;p
2. Hmm.. I thought it felt stuffy because of the altitude :dunno:
3. Where will they put the chairs in winter time LEH?? :bsmilie:

This a gem. Good shot.

Thanks, Divinemoment :)

kinda abstract (or "the aftermath of nuclear bomb at Leh airport")

My mind's kinda going off-track here but it somehow ... reminds me of the front row seats at a getai performance???
