Sex sells

Hi Melody-Love

Thanks for providing us with the POV of a shoot organiser. I'm sure many of us appericate it.

The point many of us are bringing up is that these kind of titles are giving CS a bad name and if things are not moderated now, CS may one day be the place to go to if people wants to look at sleazy photos of XMM in compromising pose or even create the image themselves. Would you want to be assiocated with a website like that and be known as an organiser of sleazy shoots? As it is, ClubSnap is fast becoming ClubSex. Hope you can see things from our prospective as well.

Since it is voiced out now, i think most of the organisers will tone down abit. However, it's a group effort. If other organisers are still continuing to do it this way, the other organisers might be 'forced' to follow in order not to lose their threads in a pool of much more attractive titles.

Also, letting the moderators judge whether our title is okay or not is unfair, because what's okay to us might not be okay to them, and we might keep getting infringement points for what we dont know.

I would say that the effort have to come from the mods and admins. This is their site and they are the ones who steer the direction which this site is heading. If they don't have a say and can't impose/control, who than should this responsibility fall on?

As for getting infringement points, I'm sure there are rules which are spelled out and there are always Hints/warnings first befor they take action, right;)

why not? since some people make this place sound like its a porno site when it's not and has never been...

why not? since some people make this place sound like its a porno site when it's not and has never been...

then this place will become even more draconian...which is what some people would want i think.

Uhm, care to share the specific legislation (name and section number) which says:

1. that nude and/or semi nude photography is not allowed in Singapore?

2. that consent is a factor to whether it is allowed or not allowed; and

3. that a model of below 18 years cannot give consent to satisfy (2).

4. and how did the age then change to 16 years in your last sentence?

Hi,

1.) nude and semi nude photograph are allowed in singapore, but with a legal age,
2.) In the statutes, chapter 38,Part 1, 2. "child" means a person who is below the age of 14 years;
"young person" means a person who is 14 years of age or above and below the age of 16 years.
and....

7. Any person who, in public or private —
(a) commits or abets the commission of or procures or attempts to procure the commission by any person of any obscene or indecent act with any child or young person; or
(b) procures or attempts to procure the commission of any obscene or indecent act by any child or young person,
shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 4 years or to both.

So what constitute of obscene, under chapter 338

Meaning of obscene
3. For the purposes of this Act, a publication is obscene if its effect or (where the publication comprises 2 or more distinct parts or items) the effect of any one of its parts or items is, if taken as a whole, such as to tend to deprave and corrupt persons who are likely, having regard to all relevant circumstances, to read, see or hear the matter contained or embodied in it.

3.) Sorry for the wrong info i have given earlier that is 18, i mean to be 16.
4.) My bad, after discussion with some colleague. we agree that under the law the age 16 defined young person

and if you know some info on this side, pls share, =) btw i mean no interference in this post, :) just that don't want people to spoilt the market for photographer. Thats all.

all the above can be found in http://statutes.agc.gov.sg/ thank you

Oh btw i guess u guys know that MDA also plays a part in such things, censorship and this kind of underage stuff, but then again no offense to others that i am not trying to "shoot" anything or what, for me i think is to respect the models and organizer who plan the thing for us to experience and to learn from others photographer, skills and techniques.. so yea ... =)

Hmm, I guess you take the view that:

1. Nude photography per se constitutes an "obscene and indecent act", and that it "depraves and corrupts". I'm not sure if everyone here will agree with that.

2. By the way, I'm not sure you can use the definition of a word in one Statute, to interpret the meaning of that same word in another Statute. Note that Section 3 that you have referred to says "For the purposes of this Act...".

I'm also not sure how nude photography (whether of subjects below or above 16) "spoils the market for photographer".

I see nothing wrong with the titles....but the models have to be comfortable with them. :)

FYI..i not trying to sound this forum like any porno sites or what ok, just to let u guys know if there is such things, not trying to say anything, anyway..is ok, each as his POV.. =) thats all~
