yup, that's what i don't want pple to get into trouble with this, i know nude and semi photography is art, but if you misuse the word art, and that will lead u into trouble, sg = strict country. thats what i can say. :)

piecing the statutes like that do not work. afaik, the mda does not clearly stipulate what u have just pointed out. u need to bring in children and young persons act, women's charter and penal code as well if u want to make your point.

:flush: y so troublesome? nude, semi nude - 18 and above nth wrong, under 16 - DONT GET CAUGHT! or u get urself into trouble...haaaa... just my 2cent..

haha..haiz... aiya...law topic is always never ending...this n that...okok...i wont say anymore.. -_-" ...OMG

There is nothing wrong in bringing up a point of law. My point is that if you have made an expression of fact (as opposed to opinion), it would be useful to back that expression of fact with some legal basis.

If it is expressed as a bare opinion (ie I feel this way, but I have no basis for saying so), then state it as such so that readers can put the appropriate weight for the statement.

No worries about stepping on anyone's tail. Just because someone asks you to substantiate your view does not mean that he is angry at you or trying to get back at you. It is all in the name of a healthy discussion to share opposing views so that a better picture can emerge for all.

lol.. nope... i am just a norm person, i do study abit law in poly and just wanna share and discuss, mean nth like what trying to sound this site like porno or what la, then vince123123 ask me those question i just fill up for him lo, lol...but i rly mean nth so that what i got to say... sorry if i step onto anyones tail... =)

The thing is, I'm not even sure there's a legal basis for putting a distinction about above 18 or below 18 as a factor for considering legality in the first place.

=) ...yeap, ok... cheers!

piece of advice to organizer, next time want to organize nude shoot, go any ulu island out from SG main island, then won get u into trouble, just need to beware of pirates:bsmilie:

Some pirates might not mind holding the reflectors for the nude models for free. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

I would say that the effort have to come from the mods and admins. This is their site and they are the ones who steer the direction which this site is heading. If they don't have a say and can't impose/control, who than should this responsibility fall on?

As for getting infringement points, I'm sure there are rules which are spelled out and there are always Hints/warnings first befor they take action, right;)

Hmm ,some newbies might not have known of the new rules because they didn't notice the sticky threads and get infringement. I've gotten infringement for the first time without warning when i didn't know about the "one 'UPS' per 24 hour" rule at the personal services offered subforum..

as i said why don't u go police everyone since u think nudes are evil?

nudes are fine - when they are done tastefully.

but the examples posted earlier on from the clubsnap galleries, the ones that mattlock commented on.. would you say that those are done "tastefully"?

sometimes it is a matter of standards, sometimes it is something else entirely altogether. i think we should discourage the latter, even if it's a free market and all that idealistic jazz comes into play.

Since it is voiced out now, i think most of the organisers will tone down abit. However, it's a group effort. If other organisers are still continuing to do it this way, the other organisers might be 'forced' to follow in order not to lose their threads in a pool of much more attractive titles.

Also, letting the moderators judge whether our title is okay or not is unfair, because what's okay to us might not be okay to them, and we might keep getting infringement points for what we dont know.

i think there is nothing much to worry about infringement points -

firstly, there are various degrees of infringement, and clubsnap admin/moderators tend to be rather objective about 90% of the time when it comes to dishing them out. a warning has no bearing on your record, it's not as if it has much negative impact on your life as a organiser.

that said, like some people have mentioned, effectively if there is no demand, there is no supply. for example, you don't see any organisers organising sion's favourite genre of photography.

the main idea here is not to make anyone's life difficult, but rather, a few members being concerned about clubsnap's image, since they care for it. sure, who's to say how much an image actually counts, but i think the people who have an issue with all the sleazy titles are not doing it to stand on a higher moral ground and look down on people who participate.

go ahead with all your policewomen shots, your handcuffs, your japanese girls, so long as the correct procedures are followed and safety is not an issue, i don't think the people who don't really shoot will care. what i really take issue with is whether there is really a point to name the thread titles as such. like i had mentioned to tjhan in his thread (where you have been participating) - there is a huge difference between 2 accurate alternatives to name a thread, that lies in the connotations that come along with the names.

i don't really want to compare, but speaking generally - i'm not sure if you partake in the sleazy thread naming.. there are organisers who achieve great participation rates despite having non-sleazy titles. the pricing is not that attractive as well, (in absolute monetary terms) so where does the success come from? food for thought, don't you think?

There will always be anorexics around NM. It's endemic in the industry.

that's why i told him to go and police the nudes posted. I could care less what your policy is on nudes he is the one who made it sound like its illegal to do it so let him go and police it esp since he wants to start quoting the law.

Haiz, *shake head* guys, i am not against anyone here taking nude pictures of models and you guys know yourself, for the art or for your own..erm..ya, you might be going against the law taking underage girls or whatever it is, but that your problem, I'm not what you say "going to the police"(that's what you keep saying) for what? none of my business, as long as you are happy with your work then  for you. But keep in mind, as long as you are in singapore, the network you are using in here, is being watch, that you think is ok then ok lo.. why argue about this law thing? get back to the track where the topic sex sell is going on... :) Cheers!

Chill Bro, He's just being nice to give us a reminder that shooting nudes models of a certian age may get the shooter and organiser into trouble even in a private shoot. I think we should appericate the reminder.

Hahaha, I remember that "one 'UPS' per 24 hour" thingy :bsmilie: but seriously, do you blame the mods for that? As you have said, it was more a case of not reading up and not keeping oneself infrom. While the infringement without warning may have been a little hard, but given the suitation at that time, where "ups" was almost like a passtime in CS, it can't be help. Anyway, even if you have been issued an infringement, so long as you do things within the rules, the mods will leave you alone. Trouble only starts when you try to ge back at the moda/admin and go around pushing your luck which, you have not done.

Cheers ;)

... so long as the correct procedures are followed and safety is not an issue ...

I like this one best .... Sounds like some army training safety standard regulation ..... The last time I heard this was when re-doing all the TSR in camp before ORD ...

"Remember must have medic and safety vehicle with water container during all outdoor exercise" .... in this case of XMM shoot ... maybe need the medic as well just incase some photog nose bleed ..... :bsmilie:
