That's what I meant earlier when I mentioned decorum, and the way matters are handled.

We can't deny that sex sells as much as it is attractive, unless CS wants to cut off ALL forms of anything at all related to sex, including anything sexy or remotely sensual ... because sensuality can be (often erroneously) linked back to sex ... it all depends on what form and degree will be allowed, if any action is taken to change the state of matters.

I guess SPH has it sorted out to some extent in that they have a clear guideline as to what words and terms advertisers can and cannot use in advertisements in their media.

Then again, what if one day we have photographers here who do explore more sexual themes like say eroticism and homo-eroticism? One can't deny that the works of Robert Mapplethorpe is undeniably powerful and very moving, even if one is appalled at the sheer sexuality or dark sexual messages contained in some of his works.

Or if later on, what about artistic works that depict themes of gore and violence in an erotic manner?

But that's taking things a bit or much further than what exists today in CS I'm afraid.

As far as I can see, there are two seperate issues involved:

1) Content and
2) Mannerism

Which are we talking about to censor or guide?

May I suggest that while this is true for the short run, there's a potential for lost ad revenue from companies which may shun away from associating with Clubsnap due to the impression that we're another Sammyboy forum of sorts.

If we want to promote the art of XMM, Sexy or Nude shoots, may I suggest that the workshop organisers take a real interest in promoting the photographic element of it, in terms of appreciation of the artform and increasing the technical/aesthetic levels of this area of photography.

Hmmm interesting. I saw one thread that advertises about some shoot in a hotel room wherein the attendees need not do anything but go there and shoot. :think: :think: :think:
And the worse thing about it is that, some attendees claimed that the photos are theirs, when in fact they didnt do anything.

All that OT aside .... I think this has been a very interesting discussion and many good and valid points have been raise .... I am kind of disappointed that none of the shoot organisers have come in to chip in to this discussion and maybe present their POV.

I am disappointed too. Their POV is crucial for this discussion to move forward. Hopefully they will share their perspectives with us.
 

This thread has gone on for 13 pages.

I hate to say this, but if they wanted to say something, they probably already would have.

It's a bit puzzling why they're not discussing the issues here because whatever decisions, if any that the owners and admin of CS makes, may have a direct impact on their business.

things have never been the same since ..... I must be the 'die hard' organiser who is still sticking his ass into organised shoots here...but when some of us 'old birds' saw the directions of these shoots....if we were not human, our heads would probably have fallen off by now.... * for shaking our heads and sighing too much * :bsmilie:

remember our first shoot ? =) ... u asked why I still went ahead with it ?

There are SO MANY bikini and lingerie these days...lots of cosplay too... japanese school girls being the most popular ? there are many reasons why a person joins a shoot... he may be an aspiring photographer or just GWCs ....

I have NOT conducted many shoots for obvious reasons.. there are SO MANY every weekends .... and if i do conduct a shoot, I transform the subjects for some of you to capture something different. Those who had attended my shoots can vouch for me. I bring enuff stuffs for one to try sth different. I encouraged them to try dynamic angles when they were holding back.. I asked them to pull back if they were too close.. if they had blurred images, I explained to them why bcos I watched their back while they shot ... I encouraged communication when i noticed they were not directing the subjects or even talking to the models ..... seriously, this is missing in some....if some models are not doing the right poses or giving the right facial expressions, I will demo ... an effective organised shoot should never be short of a SHARING element .... and if some had contracted the BBB virus, I will snap them out of it :bsmilie: Having top notch or latest equipments do not make them a better photographer... its always the one behind the viewfinder =).. more often than not, newbies forget that they can tweak their settings to get a similar exposure ..its a matter of understanding what photography is all about... its always heart warming when i see the seniors leading the juniors ... and i do know those who had joined my shoots were out for some serious photography



I guess the bottomline is responsibility ? .... its a personal thing ? ....... there is really nth much we can do .. alone

That said, I am NOT giving up on this forum :thumbsup: ... I ve just renewed my subscription tho I dun organise weekly shoots

I won't be surprised if it's been done before, perhaps just not here as an organised shoot that's all.

In fact, if i can pull off a film noir look and feel, I would love to try something like that ... ONS ... Dangerous liaisons, 9-1/2 weeks ... as long as I can make the photos look really good!
