As evidenced by my post count, I'm very new here, and lurk far more than I post. However this topic struck a nerve; censorship, in any form, is never good, no matter what form it takes. I'm with Deadpoet here. I abhor any control mechanisms created by a select few who thinks everyone should conform to their standard of morality. It is oppression, and you cannot disguise it, and I will not support it.:nono:

I also think that a lot of people have missed the point. This being an internet forum, you will always attract certain forms of scum. There is no way to combat that except for being aware and knowing how to protect yourself. I leave you with this gem of a quote, feel free to extrapolate its meaning.

"He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself."

PS. Cookie for those who can attribute that quote!

now. its both camera owners and shoot organisers that have spawn off this so called trend.

if u have realised. i used the word camera owners and not photographers. and that is not to tarnish the word anymore.

and it takes 2 hands to clap.

I'm not bothered by what SG Girls will become as I don't even know what it is right now, maybe will pop over just to "educate" myself :bsmilie:

Back in the 1800s, dressings are according to what is acceptable at that point in time, same as we're trying to see what is acceptable here now.

In your earlier posting you have mentioned that the "style" of advertisment as well as the shoot itself have been sleazy. That, I think almost all of us have agreed is the going trend. Question is, do we want to accept this here in CS now? Do we want to do something about it? What can be done? How we can play a part?

Time indeed will change our thoughts and expectations, but here and now, what are our thoughts and expectations?

Censorship is everywhere and we practise it everyday.

Not using the "F" word when you're speaking to your boss or parents even when you're piss off is already a form of self censorship. Not posting an image which you have shot where the model accidentally expose herself is also censorship. So you see, not all censorship are bad.

You're right to say that this is an open forum and a certain level of scum and sleeze will creep in. Thing is, do we allow this to con't and grow or do we contain it?
 

Would be interesting to note if any Shoot Organiser is reading this thread or have some feedback.

Wait till all those images posted here are their mothers, daughters, sisters, or wives, then censorship will kick in here.
