Service Offered Section Not considered As Advertisers?

Something tells me that the topic of this thread has to do with my recent missing thread for monitor calibration service (see link on my signature below). Any updates on this matter?

ah yes. since this is a non-photography service, it's classified under commercial services, same as canvas printing, book printing, studio rental, etc..

please sign up as an advertiser or service provider or change your signature.

Something tells me, this thread died, no updates, No one probably really sees the issue of the encouragement of freelance coming in as a huge threat. :nono:

make a compulsory registration. members who wish to submit as FL will be required to state their services, pricing and other things relevant. real name and contact number must be provided.

then pending mod approval for each submission.

after which, their thread stays closed. no upping of threads etc.

this should help shut down most things. but then workload on mods would be significant. would it be as much as the approval of the critique corner threads? i do not know.

just my take lor if u really wanna stamp out ppl.

As per my initial suggestion, why not just put a fee on the FL who wants to advertise? At leaast the fees can be used to help in maintaining the Forum as well. As it is the Moderators would already be doing quite abit of work on keeping an eye on the threads being clean. So why not just charge for it?:think:

Just felt that CS discourages free lancers and prefers them to either be professionals or "this is just not your cup of tea". My FL service is still available (see my signature) but nobody's interested anymore as no links are allowed. If there is a charge, am afraid none of the FLancers will bite. Also felt that CS have become a bit like ebay. No further comments.
