Cable/ADSL modem into router then the 4 comps connect to the router. Try the www.linksys.com website. They have the tutorials for basic networking. Doesn't have to use Linksys products.

wired. but once go inside router all cannot use, if dun use router than no prob, but only 1 comp can use.

is it dsl/adsl router? you got try login into router and see if you can do some adjustments to the settings? like enable dhcp?
