Some people say the cast doesn't gets noticed by the naked eye after shooting, but personally I feel the B+W, L37C and NC77 (in order of reproduction of sharpness, image quality, colour, poor->good) gave me the best.

erm, oh... my cousin's husband uses a 300D with the kit lens and he was thinking of shooting for his sister's wedding dinner coming up soon... i told him to go get a proper flash if he wants decent shots and was wondering if u knew any particular flashes that were good so i could get back to him, thanks geno!

It depends on how much u wanta spend first...some people wants cheap, go for the Canon-420. Got $700 plus to spend- get the 580-Canon(once and for all)..wanta have a powerful and cheap one(without the word CANON) on it, get the sigma 500 DG EX- $350 i think.

or get a third party to stand next to them, TAIN TENG PAO!:bsmilie:

i just wanted to ask around for my cousin's husband... cuz if i do get a flash, it will be more for general purposes... while he probably needs a flash for that wedding only i think... he's the type of photographer who only takes out the dslr for events like taking photographs of his friend's newborns and weddings, don't think he shoots much other than that.

580EX. Don't bother thinking so hard

At the end of this sat model shoot, you'd have earned enough for 1/3 of a 580EX yourself :devil:

Hmm ...currently got 3 filters in mind.

1. Nikon L37c or NC (which is what? ... L37c = haze / NC = skylight?)
2. B+W UV (which model? - the one garion using)
3. Hoya Super HMC Pro 1 / Hoya Pro 1 Digital UV

I'm using the 77mm B+W MRC 010 UV-Haze filter. Slightly on warm side I guess, not that noticecable lar. My advice is: go for B+W.

A 420EX would suffice ... fully auto .. no headaches or worries or $$$ ...

Else like geno mentioned... get the sigma 500 dg super ex ... i'm using that one since i don't do much serious flash photography either
