Hmm ...currently got 3 filters in mind.

1. Nikon L37c or NC (which is what? ... L37c = haze / NC = skylight?)
2. B+W UV (which model? - the one garion using)
3. Hoya Super HMC Pro 1 / Hoya Pro 1 Digital UV

IMHO, forget Hoya. Sure, it's cheap, don't compromise.

2) I believe Bird G*** is using the B+W MRC 010 UV.

Nikon L37C is the Nikon version of UV filters. In my opinion, it looks slightly better than the B+W UV MRC.

Nikon NC filters is a total clear, no reflection, no colour cast filter. They are specifically designed for Digital use as we can now compensate the color casting caused by UV rays with WB setting. Pictures from the use of NC filters, is like directly out of the lens with any filter mounted in the first place.

Very likely ... but would like to see the B+W and the Hoya first to satisfy my curiosity ...

Thanks for the info.

Yup, was told about these "clear" filters that does not introduce colour casting onto the shots. Does nikon have any skylight filters?

So far, nobody has managed to withheld throwing out the B+W and Hoya after comparing with a L37C and/or NC77

GHOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

Go CP, take out a L37C, compare with Hoya, B+W lor.

I can loan you a NC77 to compare (on the spot that is...)

Some people say the cast doesn't gets noticed by the naked eye after shooting, but personally I feel the B+W, L37C and NC77 (in order of reproduction of sharpness, image quality, colour, poor->good) gave me the best.

As for Hoya, I always get hazy images from using them. Maybe it's just me. :dunno:

haha, geno! that's so lame!

erm, oh... my cousin's husband uses a 300D with the kit lens and he was thinking of shooting for his sister's wedding dinner coming up soon... i told him to go get a proper flash if he wants decent shots and was wondering if u knew any particular flashes that were good so i could get back to him, thanks geno! :)
