espn... got a question for you... when you present your pics to ppl... do you present those that are cropped at unusual ratios... or all your pics will be in the standard ratio?

What pics you talking about? I don't have a habit of cropping images, normally what you see from my shots is exactly what I framed thru the VF (95%) :)

You need a bouncecard, remove the omnibounce as it's useful only when the ceilings are low and swissotel isn't really that low ;p

70-200? go up close and personal lah. use something of the 24-80mm ranged kind of lens enuf already. most of the cosplayers are pretty game to pose. ;p

make mi wan to get the 24-70 ;p can't get rid of the distracting BG at the cosplay.

Actually it's more of WB. :) Some of it has it, some doesn't, look closer, anyway not to argue. Just for info.

tot the matrix can handle a ommibounce faced directly in front?

that's what I do if the ceilings are too high.. juz leave the ommibounce on and point the flash directly on subject.

as espn mentioned could be your WB setting loh.

not to worry too much on it... it's juz something you'll pick up along the way learning photography... ask espn to tutor you lah :bsmilie:

thanks...

coz sat when shooting cosplay... got other ppl elbows jutting here and there on the side of my pics as well as distracting BG... thinking of cropping them off... but will end up with unusal ratios.

I'd rather not take the chance :) and if it's going to be direct no point using the omnibounce as the iTTL+3DMM will take care of exposure accurately, but the background might be a bit loss under low ISO.

Y you think I shoot RAW? Hehehe... WB is after all camera decided, if equipment is smart, we humans won't be the one designing them, there's always flaw(s) in everything.

If just for presentation sake, I think it's pretty ok, if you need to print, then set the ratio in PS to be 3:2 or 2:3 before you crop, that way it'll remain printable.

I do agree that nikon's ittl and 3dmm are much better that the matrix I've got on 10d...sometimes events moves soo fast that I forgot to compansate... another pic to del

yeah... how I wish I can shoot RAW for every frame... ... post processing will be a killer on an uncalibrated screen
