I'd go for Maxtor :)

MAXtorture.

2 hdd.

1 dies within 1 week before warranty ends

1 shows signs of failure 1 year before warranty ends.

Moral of story:

Avoid maxtor whenever possible.

Company servers:

Maxtor HDD

1 by 1 dies.

In the end .. have to call up Dell to get them to replace them

Buy SCSI disks.

Company servers running on SCSI ... same issue ... 1 by 1 dies ..  ... i already lost faith in Maxtor already ever since they shifted their operations to Malaysia ..

Get Atlas ones...

my point is there will always be diff grades.
e-test of e-parts depends on the test prog.
there are guard bands and others to ensure they fall into the specs.
but if assembly was at the extreme ends of manufacturing window, then too bad lor.
