front/backfocus does happen, just how severe it is.
try shooting at big aperture to check.

Think it's more of the limitation of the contrast focusing system... sometimes the focus area got a more contrasty edge between the subject and background... then the focusing algorithm will be confused...

other then that check if your focusing system is on single or continous servo.... continous servo needs time to adjust.
