Selling photos on stock photo sites

dont judge the books by their cover, some subscribe to more than 2 for sure, i am guilty of 6 with 3 being inactive cos i dont have time for them LOL

wait till you have that amount to withdraw, patience is a virtue. :) theres no fee withdrawing from stock site, the only fee is if you are withdrawing form paypal less than 199 as far as i know but you can always accumulate your credits until one lump sum that can put a bigger smile on your face :D

yup i understand how it works now. haha.

why inactive? maybe i'm missing something out - are the steps involved in uploading photos very tedious?

oh you mean tags huh? lol. understood. haha.

oh yah, for stock photo websites, is it also safe to input all true information like addresses and numbers? i rarely put it down online unless it's a govt website. lol.

those info don actually need unless during registration time. and these info are used for comfirmation that u will get paid...kuar? for individual fotos, don think need to input all those.

Hi guys,

I submit also to seven sites. I have both paypal and Moneybooker's (online ewallet) for receiving payment...haven't cleared minimums yet tho. From what I understand, Paypal accounts in Sg have 2 balances, one in USD and one in SGD and you request the conversion when you want to transfer funds between the two. That's how mine works, but I don't use that one, I use my US one.

I have written some preliminary notes about the sites I submit to if you're interested...it's at http://photography.newbieholdem.com (microstock tab)

yeah it's relatively safe. They don't ask you for banking info anyways, just address and phone number (usually optional, I've never received any calls). U.S. companies are required by law to meet gov't standards pertaining to the security of their computer/servers, especially those dealing directly online. So your info is much safer in comparison to a home computer...lol.

i briefly read through the whole thread - seems that most people only subscribed to 2 sites. why is that the case? i mean, no harm subscribing to ALL available sites on the net right? can make more $ at no extra cost to you..

At the beginning I subscribed to all sites. But I've found out only 4 sites are worth uploading photos. The rest are non-performing time wasters.

paypal did ask me for my credit card number/security code/expiry etc etc. it's for linking back to remove the withdrawal/sending limits and more..

hey thanks for your website/opinions. i've signed up for those sites that you recommended. :)

which are the 4 good ones for you?

but paypal only charges if its below usd199, other than that its free

Actually there's a charge. For instance, if the current exchange rate of USD:SGD is 1:1.5 , they will calculate as 1:1.4625. Meaning instead of getting $1.50, you get $1.4625. It's 2.5%.

yes, that's the spread i was talking about for currency conversion. :)

yeah which four is it mr sion?

I won't go into specifics.

I just want to illustrate that subscribing to all sites is not a smart idea. You have to do your own research.
